After many years of discussion we decide that we will take our first ever Christmas vacation in 2005. Have numerous family discussions about possible locations starting relatively low key with Canaries etc as we already have Orlando holiday booked for August. After trawling internet over Christmas break for reasonable prices am surprised at how expensive Europe is. We move search Stateside. I am in favour of New York as really like idea of Times Square then start seeing TV reports of heavy snowfalls and am not so sure. Have lots of trouble finding accomodation and/or flights anyway which appear to be sold out already.

Still can't find suitable New York holiday so have family discussion and decide on Orlando. DD & DS thrilled they are really excited about seeing Christmas lights etc in parks. Again have difficulty getting exactly what we want as many flights fully booked eventually manage to get 10 day holiday from Gatwick flying on Christmas Day!

As I was little disappointed at not getting New York trip at Christmas DH books one for Easter 2006 as birthday surprise!

Feels very strange that everybody is getting ready for Christmas and that we're getting ready to go away. Am excited about holiday but can't help feeling that we're missing out on something. Have ADR's sorted and park tickets arrived safely from ATD. Have never been so organised with sending cards & gifts. Have a big family lunch the week before and have Christmas Day a day early so it's early to bed on Christmas eve to get up early for our Very Merry Christmas Adventure .........
