We leave on our western cruise on March 22nd and we were wondering where the nearest liquor store was to cape canaveral? We will have a rental car and figure my hubby can drop us off at the port we can check in and he can run that errand and return the car to Budget. Thanks...

I have a spin-off question about buying alcohol. Do the grocery stores in Florida sell full-strength alcohol? Until I moved to Colorado, every state I've lived in has sold it in grocery stores. Here you can only buy 3.2 beer and malt beverages in the grocery store. TIA!

Most of the grocery stores we've been to in Florida, sell "regular" beer as well as wine.

You'll find different types of liquor stores, for hard liquor. It's the only state I've been to where I've seen a liquor store at a drugstore chain (Walgreens). Must be for medicinal purposes!?!?

Ah, memories of childhood, LOL! Walgreens and Longs Drug both had liquor sections. Medicinal purposes - never of thought of it like that. California and Arizona both have those liquor sections in drugstore chains. Now that I think of it, maybe that's why the Walgreens that recently opened here looks so different to me, a perfume section instead of a liquor section.

In Florida there's a liquor store call "ABC Liquor" thats where you'll find the hard stuff. Wine and beer is sold in the grocery stores.

Our experience has been that ABC has much better prices than the individually owned liquor stores. I think there is one in Cocoa Beach, but I've never tried to find it.
