Liquor Question

We're staying in Cocoa Beach the night before our cruise. Are there plenty of liquor stores there so we can buy whatever we want to take aboard and carry it on. I don't want to buy it at home and risk it getting broken going through baggage.

From your other post, I see that you are staying at the Hampton.

Accoding to the map, near Ron Jon's store which is within walking distance there is a Winn Dixie which is a supermarket. I'm not sure how much "high" powered stuff they sell, but wine and beer.

Just south of you is the Publix, again a supermarket. It doen't look to far, but I never walked that direction to see. I believe it is about .5 miles south according to the map.

A bit south of that is ABC Fine Wines & Spirit. It looks to be about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 mile south of the Hampton.

Now, this was taken from dave's map site and I'm not sure if anything has changed.

Hello there - if you are staying at the Hampton Inn, the closes place to buy liquor is ABC - from the Radisson, they are exalty one and a half miles South and on the beach side - they open at 9AM and close at 9PM - then as musicgirl said, you have one South of the Hampton Inn and about the same milage. Winn Dixie and Publix only carry beer and wine.

Okay, I have to ask.

How do you bring it on board? Is there an extra charge? Is it in your luggage or carry on?

I'd love to bring some on for our room, but I always thought it was "against the rules."

I spend some time in that area every so often and recall there being an abundance of liquor stores. Where A1A becomines devided to the S there is one, thats the only easy landmark I could htink of. Have fun.

You will have to go to ABC liqour, as florida grocery stores don't sell liqour.

We only brought on wine and some alcohol. We put our bottles in a soft sided rolling cooler. And rolled it on with us. When our cabin was ready...rolled it to the cabin, asked our cabin steward to keep the cooler filled with ice and we were set. At the end of the cruise, we stuffed the cooler with dirty clothes and that made more room in the suitcases for souveniers.

I've known people to bring cases of wine, beer and water. They place it on a luggage caddy and rolled it on board. Disney has asked that the beer cases be covered...and sometimes has given people a plastic bag to cover it with....but they have no problems with you bringing on the drinks!!! Enjoy!!

When you bring liquor on board can you only drink it in your room or can you walk around onboard with it. Say we bring a case of Coors Lite, would we be only able to drink it in the room? And does anyone now if you can bring bottled beer? and walk around onboard with it?

Also how much do they charge for beer onboard and what kind of can beer do they have?? Do they offer it by the bucket or have beer specials like the drink of the day specials?

Thanks :flower:

Hhhmm..if I stay at the airport the night before, I could use a transport comopany to the Port that would do one of those store stops I usually do on the way to DW. I could pick up a few bottles of wine for DH. He'd be a happy camper.
