We have LO that needs to use liquid, refridgerated Reflux meds...

Normally we give them around 7-8pm... We will be at the parks around this time. I was planning on prefilling the oral med syringe w/ a dose. and packing it on ice in a small "bottle" cooler.

Someone told me I can't take meds into the park unless they are in the original prescription bottle. Is this true??? I'd hate to risk "losing" an entire $$$ bottle from heat/refridgeration issues if it would happen to be my luck.

Any other tips...

You can take meds into the park. In fact, if you want you can even leave them at first aid to stay refrigerated.

We have filled syringes and taken them in with no trouble to all. You can ut them into a zip lock bag with your name and take them to first aid and they will put it in the fridge for you. We have done this and it is so nice to know that it is being kept at a safe temp. Some reflux meds are recommended to be refrigerated just for the taste. I would call the pharmacy and ask about this, My daughter has reflux and we took a trip once and had a hard time keeping her meds cool. Once home I was talking to the pharmacist and he told me that her med only needed to stay cold for best taste and that it would have been safe to keep it a room temp. It might be worth a phone call to find out in your case as well.

I am so glad I found this thread. I was reading threads trying to find out more about storage for my daughters' reflux meds while at our resort, and happened across this thread. In our case the refrigeration of meds is necessary & i was concerned. I love the dis & all the great people & info they share :) I don't think i would have considered taking the meds to the parks until i read this thread! Thanks again!

If you have any concerns, you can always ask your pharmacy to print out an extra prescription label laminate it and stick it in your bag or cooler. Lots of people do this with epi-pens so they do not need to carry the box but have verification if need. We however carry these, plus sometimes a pre-filled syringe and have never needed anything.
