Lip stain?

I do not like lipstick. I don't wear any & don't own any. I think they feel gross.

I'm addicted to Blistex ointment though for its coolness & wet feeling. I have a tube in every room & in my car & pocketbook.

However, I think I would like to try the lip stains for some color but do not want a lot of color. And I'll top it with my Blistex.

I've seen some reviews on YouTube for Covergirl and Revlon. Also seen some ideas on how to make your own with jello or just red food coloring.

Without spending a lot of money, what have you ladies tried & how has it worked?

I like the Burt's Bees w/ color. Very soft, subtle and comfortable to wear. :thumbsup2

I LOVE the CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain! It has a great variety of colors that look natural. There aren't any experimental or wild colors in this line (I prefer more subtle colors for my face, but I love the vivid hues on my clothing/accessories!) ... just simple colors that you can't even feel when you wear. I don't like to wear stuff on my lips (lipstick ), and gloss I use very rarely, but I do use the stain because I don't feel like there's a 300 lb film uncomfortably coating my lips. My favorite shade is the Flirty Nude. You do have to reapply throughout the day, though.

If you try a less expensive lipstain & decide you like wearing it, you may want to invest in a bottle of BeneFit's BeneTint...it's a liquid that paints on like nailpolish & lasts a looooooong time. :thumbsup2

I have the lip stains that were marketed like colored markers (I think they're Covergirl). I'm not a big fan. I'm also not a fan of those long-lasting lipsticks that feel all dry on your lips all day.

I'm a major Chapstick addict, so I know what you mean about wanting dewy lips all day. I prefer lipstick, myself.

You would love Burt's Bee Lip Shimmer - they have just enough color to wear instead of lipstick.

I just recently discovered a prouct I LOVE. I had been using CoverGirls lipstain with chapstick on top, but I like this even better. It is like lip balm that stains and tints your lips. :cloud9:

I have the Wednesday and the Saturday. Wednesday is a nice natural color and Saturday is a pretty reddish pink that I use for work and going out. I find that the color stays put pretty well, about 2 hours. :thumbsup2

On the View they just said you could use a pink/red Sharpie Marker:eek: for lip color.

I really can't believe they promoted it as a quick fix.

Word of warning on the CoverGirl lip stain, though--if you select a dark-ish shade, be prepared for that color to stain whatever it touches for a loooong time. I got some a little below my lower lip and while I was able to frantically scrub it off with my fingers, it stained my fingers for the next day+. It's really more like drawing the color on with a permanent marker than a "gloss," per se. I did like how it felt, though, which was like I was wearing absolutely nothing. I just wore it with a little vanilla Softlips lip balm on top and was good to go.

You might want to try the Cover Girl Amazemint lipslick. It has a cool mint feel while also providing the color. I would think it would feel a lot like Blistex while smelling nice and minty. I'm addicted to Vaseline but find I don't need it when I use these.

Thank you for that! I'm always looking for something new that'll give me a little color but that's sheer enough that I can forget I'm wearing anything. Monday actually looks like it'd be my perfect shade. I'm totally going to the mall to try this out after work. :teeth:

Thanks for all the recommendations. Although I'll be passing on anything that says BALM. While I love Blistex ointment, I hate Chapstick because it has that same waxy icky feeling that lipstick does for me.

No more BALMS please. :goodvibes Thanks.

I use the smallest dab of Revlon's Colorstay lipcolors. I put the smallest amount on possible, to literally stain my lips. It goes on very dry. I smear it about with my pinkie. Blot off all the excess. It stains like a Sharpie marker once on. Then I can apply anything on top. I use a sheer $1 cheapy lipgloss I got from the dollar store, called E.L.F. cosmetics. But, you can use your Blistex on top as the Colorstay really stays on.

Another vote for BeneFit's BeneTint! You can use it on lips and/or cheeks and it paints on with a brush. No balminess about it! Just be sure to wash your fingers quickly, if you use them to blot it or spread around at all! Learned that the hard way...
