I was at Ulta this weekend and there was a bunch of different choices out...I would like a little ooomph, but don't want Melanie Griffiths lips. Anyone have suggestions? Some of them were $15-$25 a tube so didn't want to blindly buy something.

TIA!

I bought Sonage (spelling) and use it often. It's not bad, but I do not see big results (I guess that's good). Mine is about $20-25 in department stores, but Avon or something less expensive may work just as well.

I have Lip Fusion from Sephora. Doesn't work for crap. :guilty:

BAth and Body has a new on e- it doesn't work either !

Lip Fusion used to work well. I bought a second tube and it doesn't work at all. My personal go to lip plumper is lip venom (they have venom lite for those who don't like the tingle but my sister says it doesn't work as well)

Do any of them work? My friend and I tried the Sephora brand and all it did was make my lips sting. :rotfl:

I've read that applying gloss just towards the center of the mouth and lining and smudging the lips at the v can emphasize them. I do think the gloss trick at least creates an optical illusion that makes the lips "pop out".

I don't think any of really give you a noticeable "plump." They contain irritants that might make your lips a bit swollen (thing about when you eat something spicy). Probably makes them swell imperceptibly and add a little "flush" to them.

I can get decent results with Lip Fusion but it is a small fourtune and I do think it may be the way I apply rather than the actual gloss.

I have a desserts one that is ok but it is gritty.

One time when I went for a maker over, I explained that I wanted to make my lips look "fuller", the make up artist recommended that I use a lipliner. At first I thought she was crazy but after giving it a try, she was right. I'm a big fan of Mac. I love their liners/lipsticks. Lancome / Clinque are close seconds.

I think I am just going to go for the restylane! :rotfl:

Careful, not all cosmetics experts have your interest in their thoughts. IT could have been that her line didn't carry a lip plumper or had it in stock and sold you a liner instead. Not all cosmetic pros are pro consumer. They make about 5% on your purchase.

Also, not a lot of people believe in plumpers.

Although if it was a Mac make-up artist they are not on commission they make a hourly wage.

It's a good thing I asked, I would have ended up dumping money on a bunch of stuff that doesn't work. :)

Thanks again for all the tips!
