Not sure where to post this. The Lion King musical is coming to Buffalo this month until April. I really want to go see it and bring the kids. Do you thing it is something the kids will like 10 and 7? Also does anyone know of any discounts. I saw some nights have a promotional code spot for discounted tickets.

Absolutely go! It is worth every penny & your kids will love it. My DS loved it, he was 15 when we went to see it in Toronto. In fact, I'm only an hour from Buffalo - we might have to run over & see it again.

Oh gosh.

GO GO GO GO GO.

I have a very active typical boy who is 7. He was positively MESMERIZED for the entire show.

I would definately GO!! I would love to see it again. We took my kids when it was in Toronto and they were 2, 5, 7, 9 and they were so amazed! They liked it as much if not better than Beauty and the Beast!

I can't think of any discounts for Shea's, but you can try for the cheapest shows - avoid Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday matinees. Those are the most expensive tickets. most likely the discounts were for weekdays.

Also a nice budget tip is to park in the M&T gated lot across the street from the Market Arcade Theater - only $2 to park as opposed to the $10 if you park on the other side of the theater.

we have tix for the april 1st show. i have heard it is absolutely wonderful. disney visa might have a discount now, but did not when we booked.

Hi guys!
Nice to see so many WNYers here! I hadn't heard it was coming to Buffalo at all...hmmm..have to check it out!

Have fun if you decide to go, I have heard it is great! :)

We've got tickets to see this at Shea's too, but I'm not bringing the kids, 5, 5, and 2. The tickets I could afford were in the balcony, and I thought it might be too far away to hold their attention. At the Phantom at Sheas, I brought my binoculars! That worked out for me, but I don't think it'd work for them.

One thing you might try at Sheas is to get "rush" seats. Sometimes if a show is not sold out, they might offer rush seats after the run starts. If you show up at the box office 1 hour before the show, you might be able to purchase balcony seats at half off. So I think balcony seats are like $22 regular, that would be quite a discount. You could also call the box office to see if rush seats will be available, instead of just showing up. I tried to do rush seats for "Moving Out" but they didn't offer them then.

Just saying hi to all of you Buffalonians! I was born and raised in Williamsville, but moved to SC in 1999. We were going to come up for a visit in July, but we're going to WDW instead :Pinkbounc!!! :) Gosh, I miss Anderson's Roast Beef and ITalian Ice. *sigh* And REAL pizza and wings.... And Ultima Taco... And FISH FRIES! OMGosh! And orange chocolate, and sponge candy... I'm getting really hungry now...

Enjoy the show :)

I would definetly try for a weeknight. That's where you'll get your best deals. I've found there are a lot of WNY'ers on the DIS.

Hello to all you western NY'ers - we have been transplanted to Syracuse - originally from Lockport!!! Would love more information on that Lion King show - my mom still lives in Lockport and mayber I could take the DD (15) and DS (12) over for the show.

Ticketmaster is the broker for that theater. You can go here http://www.ticketmaster.com/venue/160/ to see what seats are available.

Note of warning for orchestra seats: there is a lot of leg room through row U. Anything behind it, you will be sitting uncomfortably due to the lack of leg room.

Thanks for all the replies. I think hubby and I will go and bring the kids along. Now deciding what day. I would like to do it during school break during the week. Thanks again

Go and take the kids! We saw it here in Denver and it was fantastic! All I could think about while we were there was, I wish my DS was here! It is amazing and if they already know the story, they will follow along easily!

I'm taking my 8 year old son on a Wednesday night - he is sooo excited and can't wait. - either can I!! :teeth:

....Great tip about the parking at the M&T lot for $2 - I work downtown and always send everyone I know there!
