I have 6 nights booked in December using my AKV contract. Due to it being cheaper to fly in a the day before, I added 1 night using my BLT contract and MS linked the reservations together for me.

How does linking work? Will I have to check out and check back in? What if I decide to add the dining plan? will have to pick up a second key card the second day?

by having them link the reservation, you will not have to check out & check back in. you'll have the same room. you can add dining plan, up to two days before arrival.

You can't link different resorts, different size villas, different category villas. You'll still have to check into your new resort. But if both your reservations are at the same resort, same category, same size villa, you have a seamless stay. If you have the dining plan for one stay, you have it for the entire stay.

I have a linked stay starting on Saturday. Same resort, same room category, have DDP added to both segments. (same plan) I will report back as to whether or not we have to check out/back in for each segment of the linked stay.
