Linking undercover tourist tickets

We purchased our tickets through undercover tourist, originally just one day passes with max pass. And now I think I’m going to add park hoppers since our first day is MLK day. With rotr I’m getting nervous haha. Is there anything special I need to know about linking my tickets to my app? Is it better to wait to do it on our first day? We need to also add the park hopper on. I literally have the worst luck with this, the last two times we went I ended up having to wait in a huge ticket line since they were vouchers. These are the actual tickets I believe. so I’m hoping this is easy and I can do it from my phone and be ready to take on whatever madness Monday gives us :)

Recent threads here noted that you can now scan your tickets into the app before entering the parks. Once you enter the parks and your tickets are activated at the gate, you'll receive paper tickets and your app should update with the new numbers and barcodes automatically. When you receive the paper tickets, take a moment to take a photo of the back of each one with a clear image of the barcodes and the numbers. Keep those photos (email them to yourself and maybe one other trusted person) as a safety measure in case the tickets get lost/stolen/destroyed/etc. The photos will help you get the tickets replaced quickly and easily at Guest Services. Keep the paper tickets in a safe, waterproof place in case you need to re-scan them into the app -- very rare, but has been reported here. Will you arrive before you start your park days? If you can visit the booths the night before your first park day, you'll be able to upgrade to hoppers then.

Thank you! Yes we can run over then night before. I had seen some people mention soemthing about names being scanned in and mixed up? Do I just need to keep track of which ticket I scan to each person?

Yes - As I scan mine into the app I just write the name on the actual ticket. That way when I give everyone his/her ticket at the gate, I can easily give the right one to each individual. And that way, when they get their picture, it will match up with the ticket that the CM at the gate gives them.

I think that in theory, the names don't matter as much as the picture, but it is easier to know which ticket belongs to whom if you have the names set up right, and if your group might split up for different fastpass attractions having the right names on the right tickets is critical.

The only time you can assign names to the tickets in the app is when you originally scan them in, so make sure you do that. Otherwise, you have to remember which ticket number goes with which person, and that's a pain.

I use a sharpie as soon as soon as we get our paper tickets and get through the turnstile.

When we went in Nov, the tickets printed with our names on them. I had linked the e-tickets in the app ahead of time. I was bummed because I forgot a pen, and then I saw the tickets had our names on it already =)

Yes. I've seem people in night fumble through several tickets until the CM matched the right ticket to the photo on file.
