Linking reservations to MDE...

Hello!

Our trip, booked through Disney, isn't showing on MDE. I've tried to link manually both through the laptop and iphone but it won't pick up on either.

I struggled to link last July but it eventually recognised it (although lost my dining reservations) and I thought that glitch was ironed out now!

Am I just too early? Trip is 10 months away :)

I had trouble linking my reservation so I emailed Disney and they sent me the American reservation number, no problems after that hope that helps:)
 
I called them too,they gave me a 12 digit reservation number.It was fine after that.linked no problem:)

You need the US reference however I haven't tried yet for our reservation for next summer as I have enough on there and don't want it to get messed up any further as I am having some "challenges" with Magicbands and FP+ at the moment for December.

I was going to play over Xmas ready to make ADRs in January.

It does depend who you speak to. Just hang up and ring back. I always get my US reservation number within a day or two of booking. Once I was told they couldn't so I redialed and got someone else and they gave it to me. It seems like some CM's have been told one thing and others know better ;)

You're wise to leave it be. The number of snags generated by people doing what they are actually supposed to do is unreal right now. Mine is still showing DD and I each having 2 sets of tickets (14 days and 21 days). It's been like that for 2 months now and I have elected to leave it be until they get their system fine tuned rather than mess with it if I have time to play with.
 
I actually spoke to someone today at Disney about this (and WOW, I have never spoken to someone so overenthusiastic on the phone... and being British, had to wonder whether she was being sarcastic when she wished me "a magical day!" ;))

Anyway, I was told the Confirmation Number I had on my email from them (a 6 digit number) wasn't what I needed, but the "Special" (her term, not mine) number I needed wasn't available yet on the system, so to try again in a few weeks. I might try when we get under 300 days out... or I might try and email and see what response I get... anyone got any clue which address I should send it to?

Our one night cash ressie has DH listed twice once as an adult and once as the child! DD isn't listed at all :confused3 I tried to amend it online and can't it just reverts back :badpc:

I have spoken to technical help or whatever they called and they have referred it on. Its a US reservation so I am confused as to why it is causing me this many problems.

Hence not wanted to add anything else in to the mix at present :crazy2:

Thanks - I especially like the hang up and try again option, lol!!

If you have got the US number you should be fine and they are usually quite good about giving them out.
 
Ah ha! I found the FAQ I'd read before... am I the only one to understand the information on the third question (about SSR and OKW), means that we SHOULD be able to link at 10 months out?

I haven't checked the link you posted, but the US reservation number (12 digits) is a matter of calling until you get someone who can give it to you. To be fair I have only had to hang up and redial once - this year I was given 3 reservation numbers when I made the booking: the 12 digit, the UK reference and the alpha numeric one that shows on the MDE app

As for linking, there are still so many bugs in the system that I would personally resist the temptation to mess with it if you don't have to. I am not touching mine until it's time to make ADR's which is in December and quite frankly, if there are issues still with the system, which I anticipate there will be, I intend leaving them unlinked until such time I feel happy to do so. It's just so much easier to wait and do it once than to sit with problems :goodvibes

I know it's not funny for those in the situation but really, some of the problems with MDE have given me a good laugh (I do apologize) I remember someone else recently, the only adult on the booking and therefore the lead guests couldn't make ADR's because the system decided one night to make her an infant :rolleyes:

Well we've booked through Virgin Holidays staying at SSR in October 2014. Ive no idea when I can get my 12 digit reservation number, no idea when to do ADR's (never bothered with them before!) no idea if and when we can link the tickets (they are part of the Virgin package). I have created an MDE account but am resisting temptation to play around with it! I think I'll wait til after Christmas at least !

I didn't know you could do that! We haven't been since MDE was launched so I don't have anything to undo but that will change from now on with a current trip booked. Thank you for the heads up :thumbsup2

I think we have 253 days. Feels like forever! Are you going in May again? I get confused when there is no ticker :rotfl2:

Today is the first day I've noticed I could do this. My hotel reservation is there but the tickets were old ones.

When I logged in to MDE on the laptop a while back it already had my 3 letter 5 number confirmation number, no phone call to get it and once it appeared on the laptop it also showed up on the app :thumbsup2 I guess I was lucky?

No mine just appeared there too. I wonder if it's because I don't have anyone else on my reservation with a Disney account? It seems that the linking issues with people arise when you try add other adults onto the account. Only oddity as previously posted is the 2 sets of tickets which will no doubt rectify themselves once the glitches are ironed out. If they are still both showing when I make my ADR's I will give them a call. i don't really want the wrong (shorter) tickets too be linked to my account leaving the good ones inactive, but I have enough time to afford to let them deal with the urgent stuff first
 
I still have this year's keycard in my wallet so knew the tickets showing up were old ones hence deactivating them.

I see now my hotel reservation says underneath ...

We also have that on my MDE page along with our dining plan

Dining Plan: 2014 Table Service Meals - Adult, 2014 Two Quick Service Meals per night, 2014 Quick Service Meals

Now bearing in mind we have the free regular DDP which is one Table Service, one Quick Service and one Snack per day what is on MDE is just total gibberish :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Unless it changes I will ring up but not until much nearer the time I'm making our ADRs which is around April so I'm hoping by then some of the glitches, hiccups and errors they've got will have been sorted out.
 
I'm not really fretting about the way the dining package shows up because the US system can't read our tickets and stays over 14 nights. I always used to log into the US site and use my 12 digit ressie number to view my reservation on there pre-MDE and it showed similarly. As long as your confirmation from WDTC is correct I think it's just a case of the way it is displayed.

The app and the browser do display different info at times though, for example, you can't see tickets on the app but they show on the browser
