Linking reservations...how?

Although we are DVC members, our September reservations were made by another DVC member. I'm thinking of adding one night to that reservation (so we would arrive a day early) which I will rent from a totally different DVC member. In order to link these reservations, do I HAVE to have both of the other members in contact with MS? When I arrive in September, can't I just ask that they link the reservations at that time? What are my choices? Thanks for your help!

My understanding is that Yes, each member has to call and tell them to link their reservation to the other one.

I don't know if it can be done in a conference call with both of them or if each one can call at their own time.
