Linking MDE With Friends

We are a family of 4, and our stay is 09/01-09/08. Our friends (family of 3) are going to be at WDW at the same time. We will likely meet up with them for some meals and possibly some rides, but we will also be doing our own things a lot of the time.

If we link our MDE, will that permit both sharing some dining reservations and FP and also each of us having some separate dining reservations and FP? It would be good to be able to see what each other is up to, even when we are doing some activities separately.

Our 180 day window opens up March 5, so I'm thinking if we should link up before then if it makes sense to do so.

This site has a very good explanation. This process works really well. Just know that they can delete your FPs and you can delete theirs!

Yes once you are linked with everyone you can make FPs for whoever you want - 1, some or all! You can share your info so they can see what you are doing and vice versa or you can make it so they only see shared events - or nothing.
