Hello everyone! I have another question tonight after speaking with my MIL, she is pretty much set on joining us for at least some of our trip next year. She is just trying to confirm a timeshare before we get too in depth with the Disney planning. Anyways she is planning on buying her own theme park tickets, more than likely at those discount places online. Originally I was just going to add her to my MDE account so I can put her on some of our ADRs for next year, but then I started thinking about it, and if I do that she won't have access to FPs because I won't have her tickets for it. We aren't sure if she's going to be staying on site or off site...right now she said her timeshare people are looking into DVC for her to exchange, but she said if thats not possible she will just use her timeshare and stay off site. My question is this I want to be able to make her a MDE account so she can join us for some of our ADRs and also FPs, but how does that work if 1 person is staying off site and the rest of us are staying on site. Also if I link the accounts would she be able to change any of our things? I know I can make our FPs at 60 days and I can make her FPs at 30 days, she more than likely won't be able to get a FP for the popular rides but for a lot of the rides I will see about getting her FPs close to our FP time so we can all ride together. Any insight on what the easiest way to go about this is? I don't really want her to have control over our stuff like our ADR times and our FPs...How does this all work, lol...this is the first time I am doing something like this so any help would be greatly appreciated!

You'll share your 60-day booking FP window with her when she is grouped with you at the time you book.

It's easier to just add her to your MDE but if you don't want her to access your MDE, set up an MDE for her and link it to yours.

She doesn't have to be in your MDE for ADRs ~ it isn't necessary. You can book an ADR for any number of people who are not linked to you.

Wow so even if she is staying off site if I link her MDE with my MDE she will get the 60 Day FP window? Thats so awesome! LOL...if I add her to my MDE then what happens with her park tickets, do I just enter them into my MDE? Or is it easier to make her own acct and link my acct to her acct? Either way though will she have control over our reservations? FP or ADRs?

You'll link her tickets to her MDE Profile/line.

If you don't want her to access and touch your booked FPs and ADRs, it's best for her to have her own MDE that is linked to yours.

Then after you have booked her FPs grouped with yours, you can delete her from your "merged" MDE so all she can access is her own MDE.

Ok thats perfect! Thanks so much! Another question not sure if you will know the answer though, but do the Disney resorts allow guest passes for their pools? If she does stay off site and for part of our trip she will be there from thursday to thursday and we will be there longer. Anyways the wednesday before she would leave I am planning a down day at our resort (not sure which resort yet because the packages haven't been released yet), anyways I know she would want to spend time hanging with us at our resort and watching our kids play and swim in the pool. It would only be for this 1 day because the other 4 days I will try to pack as much stuff into them as possible bc she hasn't been to Disney in a long time. Anyways I know she would enjoy sitting by the pool watching our kids swim and play and just having a relaxing day at our resort. Is this possible at all?

Disney policy is that resort pools are only for the use of guests registered at that resort. Enforcement is up to the lifeguards'. Some will allow you to bring along an extra guest if the pool isn't too busy. Other resorts, like BC/YC are VERY strict about it, to the point of checking guests MBs when entering through the pool gates.

Ok thanks so much for everyone's help, I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask while we are down there to see if it would be ok. I have another question though, lol (sorry for all my questions I am just trying to figure things out)...If we link her MDE acct to my MDE acct, how does it work with the ADRs...specifically Mickeys Backyard BBQ...we will more than likely have the dining plan for our trip but since she is staying off site she won't have the dining plan. If I make the ADR through my MDE acct will she have to pre pay for it since she doesn't have the dining plan or will the system assume we are using our dining plan for everyone and she won't need to pay until we get there?
