Linking bookings

Hi - we are currently planning our 10th trip to WDW for August 19. This time for the first time we have some friends joining us for their first ever trip! We’re planning on booking when the free dining is announced (hopefully!) and also hoping the free gift card returns. As such we’ll be doing 2 bookings - 1 per family. So a couple of questions if anyone can help!

1) As I will be making dining reservations and fast passes for both families - is it easy enough to link MDE to allow me to book these all together?

2) Is there a way of ‘linking’ the reservations to try and get room allocations in the same block of the hotel (POFQ)?

Thanks in advance if anyone has done this before!

You'll certainly be able to link MDE ID's, I don't think you'll be able to link reservations.
Even if you were on the same reservation there's no guarantee that you'd be allocated rooms close to each other, it will come down to where the individual rooms are available when the system allocates your bookings.

Linking MDE is easy, just make each other your friends!

You can email / call Disney and request that they link the room reservations. We have met up with our American friends out there the past two years and done this... they’ve put us in the same block both times! You sometimes have to call a couple of times to get someone who knows how to do it... ‍

We are traveling in a group on 9 (families) this May and I was able to book dining for us all under my name. The fast oasses tho we had to book as 3 separate families. Not sure it there was a way of me booking for everyone but it was easier for us this was as we are not all togetjer everyday as we decided to have family time a couple if days!!
