We have 2 - 1 bedrooms for BWV in Dec. For one of the rooms we have had to get nights a few at a time as they are available from the waitlist, so we have a bunch of different ressies numbers. It is my understanding that MS can link these so we are not having to change rooms.
My question is, if we wanted to try the dining plan could we book it for just a few of the nights, since the nights have different ressie numbers? Or, since the ressies are linked, won't that be allowed? If that won't be allowed, maybe I should just keep my first 2 nights in a standard room (waitlist still hasn't come through and it's been since January!), since that will definitely be a separate ressie.

I booked a ressie with a weekend in the middle of the vacation. I have several nights on points, 2 nights on cash, and a few more nights on points. In total I have 3 reservation numbers and they are linked. When I asked about the DDP, I was told that I had to book it for the entire stay - all 3 portions, or not at all.

If the ressies are all on points it is treated as one reservation. Therefore, the dining plan must be purchased for all nights.

As kitty44 says, if the ressies are linked, they are treated as one ressie for the DDP. Is your standard room a cash ressie or point ressie? Either way, you may not be able to get the dining plan there, either.

If it is a point ressie, you must be staying in a DVC villa to add the plan.

If it is a cash ressie, (I may be wrong), but I think it has to be a minimum 3 night stay and include a park ticket, as it has to be a regular package through CRO to get he meal plan.

What you could do would be book the dining plan for one of the reservations and share the meals (and the cost) between both rooms.

If the ressies are all on points it is treated as one reservation.
I can see why the linked ressies for the consecutive BW view nights would be considered as a single stay requiring DP purchase for all nights. But why would ressies for separate room categories even be linked, since we will be required to pack up, check out, check in and unpack again? What would be the purpose in linking a standard room ressie to a BW view ressie? Just wondering. I guess I don't get what "linking" means.
BTW, all of the nights are on points.

If they are different room types or categories, they cannot be formally linked and are treated as one reservation. With some other LOS programs, they have treated any consecutive stay at a single resort as one for rules purposes but this is not currently the case for the DDP. Therefore if one had 3 days in a standard view and 3 days in a BW view these would be treated as separate reservation and one could purchase for one, the other or both.
