Just booked a two bedroom at bcv. 3 nights on points and 2 nights on cash through dvc. The two reservations are linked but member services said I would have to get new keys once the first 3 nights end...is this true? They also told me that I would loose any left over dining when I get my new keys but I thought even when you check out your dining plan works til 12 midnight the day of checkout.

Your dining credits from the first part of your trip will remain on your KTTW card and active until midnight of that check-out day.

As for the other, yes, you will have to check-out/in. Make sure to mention at your original check-in what your situation is, and you would like to stay in the same room. Most likely it will not be an issue.

I also have an upcoming linked reservation. 1st night on cash and then 4 nights DVC. However, MS told me I would not need to get new keys. I was surprised, since we've linked reservations before and always needed to get new keys. So, I'm not really sure what to expect. MS did also say that unused dining credits on the cash reservation would carry over to the linked reservation.

Hold the phone:scared1:....

First, I thought that if your reservation was for contiguous nights in the same type of room at the same resort, the DP is all or nothing:confused3....

Second, if you book a combination of cash and points through DVC and the reservation is linked, I thought it would be treated as ONE reservation and you would NOT have to move:confused3:confused3

The reason I ask is we are a group of 15 staying in 2 2BR's at OKW in June. We have our arrival night booked on cash, the next 5 on points and the last night on cash. We absolutely do NOT want to have to move *3* times, or even check-in/check-out 3 times. But, we *would* like to add a DP for just our first night...but we were told that is not possible because it is *one* reservation and they are no longer "segmenting".

We are OK with not being able to add a DP since we've already made other arrangements...but *please* tell me that we aren't going to have to check in and check out, and possibly pack and unpack THREE times:scared1::scared1:.

I will retract my statement - first maybe I'm just wrong, second I wasn't really paying attention to cash "through member services". I just saw cash and I knew my answer was correct for that.

So ignore me - carry on with figuring it out!

Unfortunately you will find out when it happens. Often what should happen doesn't. Your best bet is to discuss the issue with the Front Desk when you check in.

Often MS doesn't know what they are talking about, the Front Desk is who deals with the rooms and KTTW card and the problems with the Lilo room reservation system.
