Linked Reservation Problems

Twice now while staying on DVC linked reservations, I have had problems.

In November, I had three concurrent reservations at OKW linked during my length of stay - one for Thursday, one for Friday & Saturday, one for Sunday (darn waitlists). On Saturday afternoon my room charge stopped working. Registers kept saying "no credit line". Went to front desk and was told that she didn't know why I was having that problem as nothing was wrong with my folio. She stated that others had been having this problem. She settled my folio charges up to that point to my credit card and I had no problem afterwords. The final folio was fine.
Chalked it up as a system anomaly.

Last week I ran into the same problem at AKV.
I had two linked reservations - one for Sunday through Tuesday, one for Wednesday through Friday. Wednesday afternoon my room charge stopped working with the same exact message at registers. Once again the front desk had no clue why it was happening as they looked at my account. I fronted that perhaps it had something to do with the linked reservations. She went in back for a bit and came back to tell me that they unlinked the reservations and gave me new cards. My final folio was fine but then I checked my credit card statement. The Wednesday morning and final working room charge transaction (and was listed on my folio) got duplicated directly to my credit card the following day. Looks like the system thought I checked out Wednesday and had "after check-out" transactions that it settled to my credit card.
Just plain annoying now.

Seems there is a problem related to linked reservations. And trying to get anyone to realize there is a problem that they can't see in the system is frustrating!
Anyone else had problems?

Yes, we have also had issues with linked reservations - but nothing like what you have experienced. In our case, on several occasions, we have not received the express checkout statement on departure day. In each case our bill was correct, but the front desk stated that we were not signed up for express checkout. When I challenged them about that statement (since we always provide a credit card and sign the agreement stating that we will pay the bill and want to use Express Checkout), I've been told that using Express is the default and that it can only be removed manually. Each time it has happened I have just had the desk deliver the statement to our room. We have also had our room keys stop working on the days the linked reservations changed over and, like you, the situation was a simple fix at the front desk.

Sorry you've had to deal with this. It is certainly frustrating and must have some explanation related to the linked reservations - even though CMs deny that is the case.

We've also had problems with linked reservations. Most of the time, it was about the DDP. We paid for the full amount for the DDP and during our "link date", our DDP would go directly to 0 credits and so when we went to use it, it would say no credits available. Then we would have to pay for it and then go to our resort front desk or concierge desk to have them credit the account and fix the credits. This happened twice in one visit since we had 3 linked reservations. It was frustrating especially since the line up for the concierge was sometimes quite long. And each time, they say that they don't know why this happened since our reservation shows us staying for the whole time. One time, my husband went and tried to fix it, they told him that they don't even have him registered as a guest. My husband stayed with them for another 20 mins to try to rectify this problem:headache:, but we had reservations, so he told them that he'll be back. When I heard about this, I was a bit upset. I went after our reservation and miraculously, our reservation was there and showing for the full stay. I believe, though, that my husband was speaking to a less experienced CM who was absolutely unaware of how to use their system. So when I got there, the CM I spoke with was surprised that we had to go back since there were no tricks to getting our reservation. :sad2: Needless to say, my husband was not happy.

The other thing that happens with link reservations is the call from the front desk wishing us a safe journey home and asking us if we need help leaving. Then an hour later getting a message welcoming us to the resort. With the previous trip with 3 linked reservations, we has 6 messages calling to welcome us and bidding us farewell only to call back and welcome us again!:sad2: This wasn't a big deal, but it always makes me nervous that they think we are leaving and possibly our "keys" would stop working.:guilty:

We almost always have linked ressies just because of our contracts. We just had a linked ressie earlier this month and had no problems what so ever at OKW.

Sorry you had issues.
