linked reservation housekeeping question

i have an 8 day trip planned at akv . it is on 5 day and one 3 day res. linked because i have 2 contracts different use years both with banked points. so will i still get full cleaning day 4 since it is really one 8 day stay. do they make you check in and check out,. how does that work. they are all my points,,thanks
 
One of the benefits of linking is NOT having to check out and check in. Yes, your reservation should be treated as one 8 day stay, so you should get a full cleaning on day 4. Back in the day when we were mailed hard copies of reservations I think that the cleaning day was listed, but not sure if that happens with emailed confirmations. You could also verify when you check in. Enjoy your stay!
 
I've read that the linking is causing some confusion with housekeeping so you may want to give them a call and let them know that you aren't actually checking out after day 5 and make certain they have you scheduled for the full cleaning.
 
I think with a linked reservation you should be okay. I think it is the segmented ones that have been done for the dining plan purposes that are having issues with housekeeping. I would double check when you check in at the resort to confirm which day is your full cleaning and which your T&T day. On the full cleaning day depending on the resort you are at there should be clean linen outside your door that morning. At OKW and SSR there is a basket with all the linens etc outside the door. I don't know about the hotel style resorts however.
 

We've had actual experience since the new booking system that even having a linked reservation confuses housekeeping. They kept trying to kick my nephew out of his room on two different days when one link ended and the next began. There wasn't any segmenting due to dining involved. I'm not 100% positive but I don't think he got T&T service during his stay since he mentioned about getting low on soap.
 
We give up on trying to figure out their schedule, even the room manager at SSR didn't know what the cleaning schedule should be and that's a dedicated DVC resort. :scared1:

Now we just tell them when to clean and everything works out.

We had a linked reservation in June - six nights on one contract, one night on the other. We had to check out and check in again for our last night. It was a pain. That was the day they were doing big maintenance on the computer system. The work was supposed to be completed before 7AM check in times, but it wasn't done until closer to 5PM. I kept going over to the Hospitality House to get our new keys and they kept telling me it wasn't ready yet. Around 4:30PM, they delivered our keys to our villa - and they were two short (we had a GV with 11 of us). The two keys that were short? Me and my son.

So your housekeeping may get messed up. You should get full cleaning on day 4 with an eight night stay. But don't be surprised if it doesn't happen.

What a pain! It shocks and amazes me how many things that have been straight forward in the past seem to be convoluted lately. For years when I have used wait lists and multiple contracts to book a stay, I have had 3 or 4 reservation numbers for a single stay and never once did we have a problem. It was as if we only had 1 reservation.
