Well after reading alot about not enough time to see Tulim or Xcaret I am not considering just going to the beach, shopping and the cozumel ruins when there. But are the cozumel ruins ok? Will they be meaningful to our nine year old son or just a pile of rocks? Does anyone know of a link to them that I could visit? Thanks Ann

Here we go this one has alot more info. My family started touring maya ruins in the 70s. I now with children of my own have taught them the history of the Maya. I took my boys ages 5, 7, 15 and 17
to Tulum, Chichen itza & coba .This was a little tough for the little ones but they had fun. (hot and alot of walking)Then again we went, this time with the small ones being 7 and 9 to all of the above but added Uxmal, 3 weeks of touring ruins. They never got bored. I did however buy them books on the maya to read before.
I found them on amazon.com I think your son would enjoy.
Best to get a guide. (bargin)
San Gervasio is located on the cross island road between San Miguel and the east coast of Cozumel. There is an entrance fee and English-speaking guides are available at an extra charge. It is worthwhile to have a guide so you can learn about the history of this area. The Mayan ruins covers an area of approximately 10 acres in the jungle.
