Hi, my name is Elisha Conway. I have a three year old son with two brain tumors on his optic nerves. He will be on chemo his entire life. he will get breaks from chemo at times. He also has a genetic disorder called Neurofibromatosis, Autism, and Epilipsy. We have two other children, Connor who is 5 and Elizabeth who is 8. Elizabeth had 2 brain surgeries this June due to a Chiari Malformation.
We have a Make A Wish trip scheduled!!! We will be leaving from Memphis, Tn. Aidan is a patient at St. Jude.
I want to thank everyone on this site for all of your tips.

Nice to "meet" you, Elisha, and :welcome: to the DIS! If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask. ;)

Thank you!!! We love Disney World!!! My parents couldnt afford to take us as kids but my husband took me on our honeymoon and we also were able to take our two older kids. This time will be a little different and I feel kinds overwhelmed with it being a wish trip. I would live at Disney World if I could!:)

How do you get to the front of the lines? I know some of them you are in a line inside so its not like you just walk around people.
Thank you,
Elisha Conway

Are you asking how you can skip the lines? If so, the answer is that with very few exceptions (e.g. some children on MAW trips), you cannot. If your family is on a MAW trip, the CM will direct you on how to proceed at each ride (and you won't have to push past people - they have ways to do this without doing that).

Elisha,

For (most/all?) Wish trips, you will receive information about how to handle lines. There is a cast member at the entrance to every ride who will direct you appropriately for that ride. The CMS are very familiar with Wish kids and the Wish program, so you'll not have to explain anything. If you are given Wish buttons, simply put them on where they're visible.

Other than some children on wish trips (and that is not always a given,) there is no way to skip lines. When you see those people not on MAW trips in another line, they probably have fastpasses which are available to anyone at the machines near each ride that offers it. Other than that, you need a good touring plan and avoid the busiest parks.

Welcome Elisha and family!:grouphug:
I hope your son enjoys some time just being a child and enjoys his wish to the fullest! We are meeting with our wish granters in a couple of weeks for my son to make his "official" wish. :cool1:
Have you started a PTR yet? You should soon. Let us know if you do so we can following along with all the planning. Praying for you family!:flower3:

OP: If you get a front of the line pass with your wish trip materials, the Cast Member (CM) at the ride will tell you what the procedure is for that particular ride, depending on your needs. I hope you have a wonderful trip.

And from what I have heard, it will depend on the line and the CM there. Some will take you towards the exit and get you the very next ride. Others will direct you to the fastpass line and you will wait 5 or so minutes there. Either way, it will be discreet as possible I am sure.:goodvibes

There are physical considerations - taking a family to the exit of Pirates, for example, won't work because you exit at a different place from where you load and you cannot ride the boat from the exit back to the loading zone.

It also depends on staffing (which means what happens at a given ride can change) - is there someone there who can take you to the exit, for example?

But, yes, they seem to try to do things as discreetly as possible.

A couple of Housekeeping things:

1) The original poster had 2 threads and information from the first thread was important to people reading questions in the second thread. I combined the 2 threads into one.

2) Some posts were deleted because they were off-topic and argumentative.

TO answer the OP’s question:

As others already posted, you will get a lot more information when you check in for your child’s Wish trip. They will explain how things will work.

Although you may end up getting to the front of lines, that may not always happen, for a variety of reasons. You will, though, always get assistance that will help greatly to meet your children’s needs.

There is a thread near the top of this board called “Make A Wish (and other organizations) ~ Wish Trippers Unite!

That thread is where a lot of people who have been or will be going on Wish trips post. It is stuck near the top of the board so that it is always where people can find it. Today, it is the very top, but it may move down a bit, depending on which other Sticky thread got a response most recently.
I would invite you to check that thread out - especially the first few pages, which have a lot of general information about Wish trips.

Have a great time!

my MAW trip was Disney World. The MAW button they give you allows front of the line for just the wish trip. you will probably stay at give kids the world-it's a great place. They have a lot of cool & fun activities not to be overlooked. I wish I would've done more there.

OP I think the best thing to remember here is that while you can glean a lot of good experiences on the boards, you can't go into it as "this is how things are absolutely always going to be handled". I don't want to come across as a downer at all, I just don't want you to read someone's experience and be disappointed if something that they had doesn't happen the same way for you (particularly when it comes to this front of the line business)
