Hi. We have two members of our party that we expect will qualify for DAS and plan to request it. My question is how to handle transportation. If you have people in your family that can’t stand in line, do you typically use Uber or your own car? I keep hearing people talk about arriving 60+ minutes before buses or skyliner arrives in the morning, and I know there is no way we can wait for that amount of time, especially with my youngest. Any advice of how you handled this?

If staying onsite you have free theme park parking so you can just drive. I drove for many years when DS could not handle the compressed humanity in the buses. It was much more relaxing, especially at bus stops at opening and closing.

If you drive, are you able to unload passengers closer to the gates and then go park the car?

Thank you! We are planning on staying onsite.

Yes
each park has a drop off point for their parking lot. Just ask the CM in the booth when you come in and mention it as you come to CMs directing traffic

Busses come every 20 minutes or so and the skyliner is on a continuous loop. No need to get to the bus stop that early unless you want on the very first bus of the day.

Thanks! Maybe we can drive on rope drop days but try other options if it’s not too early and just see how the lines are.

remember that there is no gate drop off for MK. drop off is at the TTC and you still have to take the monorail or ferry. only buses and Minnie Vans can drop off at the gate area

Thanks! Are the Minnie Vans usually available early in the morning? We’d definitely consider that for our MK day(s).

True.
it is the drop off for the parking lot though, but still need to ride monorail or ferry-boat to get to the entrance

Does anyone in your group use a wheelchair or scooter? Do they have to have a seat? Are you staying at a resort that shares a bus with other resorts? Those things all make a difference. If you don't have any mobility devices and can stand then the wait for the busses usually isn't more than 20 minutes. Exception is right after the fireworks leaving the parks the busses get mobbed, best to either skip the night show or browse the shops while the crowds die down. We have found using the busses with mobility devices too stressful, so we just rent a van when we go

The TTC ferry is much more relaxing IMO than other Disney transportation. It's a lot of people, but it's also huge. You can hang back and avoid any interaction, if you want to. That's what you ride from the Lyft drop off to MK.

I find buses back to resorts are a piece of cake, unless you leave when the park closes.

Transportation aside, I hope you understand that even with DAS there is standing in line for the rides. No way around that. The line will be shorter, but there will still be standing in lines.

If the reason for the DAS has to do with mobility, rent scooters and stay at a skyliner resort. You do get to skip the lines at the skyliner when you have a scooter.

Each Skyliner station has a specific place for guests using mobility devices to wait. So, you are not waiting in the regular line, but may still have fairly long wait, depending on how many others are waiting.
Each Skyliner can hold up to one wheelchair/ECV + plus 6 guests (5 plus the person using the mobility device. If the group is more than that, the additional guests would go to the regular line

When I have used a scooter I never had more than one person ahead of me at the skyliner. A very short wait compared to the rest of the line.

I agree the wait for the accessible boarding area is usually shorter than the wait for the regular line.
When we’ve left Hollywood Studio or EPCOT, we’ve usually only had one or 2 groups ahead of us. We have had much longer lines at the Caribbean Beach transfer point though - as many as 6 groups ahead of us when the regular line was short, so it is a possibility

Yes I get that. I just panicked a bit hearing people talk about arriving at buses 90 minutes early. Thank for the info!

try going after the fireworks at EPCOT the line for the mobility line was very long ( not as long as the standby line) but the standby line moved the whole time the mobility line did not since there was only a few cabins ( I think 3) the line was stopped most of the time
