Lines for photos?

I've read a bunch about lines for characters, but I have seen very little mentioned about lines for photos (with backdrops, magic shots, etc.) How long do you generally have to wait for these? I'll be sailing on the Wish in case it matters. I'm considering ordering the photo package, but if long lines prevent us from being able to have our picture taken then it may not be worth it. Thoughts?

The basic (non-character) photo ops don't tend to have very long lines, in my experience. Of course, I've not been on the Wish, so I can't address whether that's true for that ship.

If you pre-purchase the photo package, and find you're not getting enough photos to make it worth it for you, you can cancel the package onboard (just do it by the last full day of the cruise).

I haven't sailed on the Wish yet, but on the other ships, there are long lines in the atrium right before the 1st and 2nd dinner seatings. If you wait until after the 2nd dinner seating, or arrive between 1st and 2nd seating, the lines go down to maybe 10-15 minutes.

Can't speak directly to the Wish as I've not done that one, but I've always found formal night (or any themed night) to be the busiest for the atrium portraits.

I’d say anywhere between a walk up to 20 minutes, with an average maybe being 5-10 minutes? They are very visible, so you can see what you’re getting into and timing can be everything as someone has mentioned regarding people milling about for dinner or a show just let out.

I think on a shorter Wish cruise the lines might be longer - I've found on a 7 day cruise, by the end, fewer people are showing up for backdrop pictures. When we do the package, I usually show up about 10 min early (so if pictures are at 5:15, I'm upstairs by 5/5:05) and stand in line for the ones I most want to do.

I have found personally I'm not a line person. I buy the photopackage every trip and end up asking for a refund because I don't stop for enough pictures. Lines aren't horrible for the backdrops. Characters can get lengthy. Maybe 10 minutes or so for the back drops before dinner is pretty normal.

I've seen longer lines for Pirate Night or things like Santa photos on a Merrytime cruise (20+ minutes). But a lot of it comes down to timing as mentioned, and if you show up right when the dinner rush does. We've had plenty of very short waits for backdrops that weren't a special theme or when we were on our way back from first seating.

Basically check out the navigator app to see when they finish up taking pics. When I was in line for character ops after 2nd dinner time I noticed hardly to little wait right before they finish up at 10pm when I was on the wonder for those types of backdrops
