Just a few comments; 1st-you are allowed to eat in most lines so getting a snack that the kids can stand and eat is a wonderful way to help pass the time. We have line waiting games we all play together but I agree with the other poster who said try to avoid the lines!
2nd-it is very difficult to "catch up" in most lines especially pushing through the crowds with little ones. Some rides have lines that fold back and at certain points it is easier to slip in (at the corners) but most you will be pushing past other people who will not be too thrilled and not all all caring that you have small kids. Many lines are really only 18"-24" wide from chain to chain or railing to railing so people really have to move for you to let you go through. The whole catching up is not a pleasant experience, ask any mom who has had a child that had to "go". I would avoid this at all costs but if worst comes to worst and one has to go, have your DH take him in and out of the line on his shoulders-lol. To me, it is NOT worth having DH save us a spot and too difficult to catch up to him in most lines whatever the reasons are.
You can't always avoid the lines so plan for things for the kids to do in line. Mine have their own little fanny packs with small waterbottles and snacks like little bags of pretzels, goldfish and a sweet like cookies. They take do take their gameboys too because after a long day of standing in line, I don't mind them playing if the line is close to an hour and I am done playing games with them like find the person in line that has Bambi on their shirt-lol.
One last tip, they are bound to get tired and cranky so we figured out if we put one in front and one behind the adults, it stops all fighting-lol! Siblings standing nose to nose in the hot sun for hours just have a way of getting on each others nerves. Good luck and you will do fine if you use your EE and FPs!
