Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has used or can recommend a strech limo service from John Wayne airport to the GC hotel. I looked up a few but theres so many so I was just wondering if anyone can make a recommendation or a stay away from a certain company by chance. Thanks for the help :wizard:

Don't use Starz (aka AllStarz) Limo. Definite issues when we used them.

I heard that it's a good idea to call the hotel and ask for recommendations. They keep a list of reputable companies. I bet the Grand Californian would have some great ideas.

Re: Bad service with Starz: We were quoted $80 each way, online. When I called, I was informed, "No, that's wrong, it's $90, plus we add a $20 gratuity for the driver, plus taxes, etc." Then when I had to pay, I was handed a bill for $125 (those pesky taxes and fees, I guess :headache:) PLUS the driver told me, "We get 5% tip from the company, anything else is up to your discretion" with a heavy hinting that we'd be cheap if we didn't tip them extra. So it ended up being more like $140 each way. Also, while they advertise "all new models" they sent an old limo that was not as pictured in the ad, and not as nice as the one I was told on the phone that we were getting. PLUS the the driver got lost on the way to pick us up to go back to the airport, and called ME on my cellphone to ask for directions. (Um... I don't live here?)

Most that I saw were advertising 100-150 each way. Again, I'd call a hotel concierge for a reputable service.

I got a quote from Tony the limo king of $65 each way plus tip to DLH. I have never used him but I put out a thread a while back about him. Several good referrences. Only one bad. That person said they got an SUV instead of a limo because of a glitch or misunderstanding. I called them directly and he referred me to his website to see his limos. I haven't booked it yet but will soon

Hi,
Thanks everyone for the info. I called the GC hotel and they gave me 2 recomendations and one was limoland which Im assuming is Tony the limo king's website so it seems they may be the logical choice so I'll go with and let you all know how it ends up. Thanks again for the heads up.

Don't knock SUVs for limos. My Suburban started its life as a corporate limo (carfax). It's got more stuff, than Heinz has pickles. (at 21 mpg):thumbsup2

Oh No! I wasn't knocking SUVs. Drive one myself and will never change!!! :thumbsup2 We loved Sontha Kim's SUVs and their service. I was referring to the only bad review was a DISer who expected a limo but received an SUV. I would use Sontha Kim again but I am looking for a stretch limo and Kim does not have them. We are surprising her with this trip and she is used to Kim's SUV. The limo would make it extra special. So I think we will use Tony the Limo King. I definately will if GCH refers them. I checked the Starzlimo sight and it was the sight Tony referred to me.
