So, I'm heading off to the world this weekend :yay:, and I'm a bit confused about the Limited Time Magic stuff going on.

Now, I understand we are able to vote for the new logo, which is going on through the 31st (which is the day I get there). Is there any magic happening starting February 1st? Have I missed something? Or is Disney holding off because of the Super Bowl?

:confused3

For most weeks, it doesn't look like we'll know what the LTM "event" is until about 2-3 days before. Check back then.

:welcome:

I asked the same question. Surprisingly, all the "experts" are now silent. You will find that most of the "experts" just copy and paste already published information. Sorry OP.

This "Limited Time Magic" wouldn't be a bad idea, IMO, IF they would announce the mini-themes well in advance (at least a few months). I'm getting the feeling they are making them up as they go along (outside of Valentine's week, 4th of July, and the Friday the 13th week), and that they don't yet know what it will be 6 weeks from now.

I'm guessing they will release something like
"the superbowl winner will be in the monday parade!" or something like that.

Starting February first, and for a limited time, WDW will double prices park wide, so you can watch your money magically disappear.

They did release one for this week - it's "vote for a logo for 2014." So no, there won't be anything special in the parks this week.

Starting February 11 it's True Love Week.

So what's between February 1 and February 11? Nothing yet, at all. Will there be anything? We don't know yet.

That seems about right. WDW has NOTHING new planned for 2013 and needed something to market the park to get repeat customers. "Hey, let's do some cheap and easy thing every week!" someone probably said and about 5 good ideas came out right then. The other 47 weeks are a mystery, even to Disney.

On the other hand, Disneyland seems to be calling all of their usual events (such as Mardi Gras, Three Kings Day, Lunar New Year) Limited Time Magic. Which is not to knock the events themselves--characters in special outfits, special entertainment, special food offerings--just the laziness of the promotion. I agree that this week is a particular low ("do our market research for us!").

OP: usually the weeks are announced the Friday before they start on the Disney Parks Blog and on the limited time magic webpage.

EDITED TO ADD: I forgot to mention the revival of the Golden Horseshoe Revue at Disneyland. That was an awesome idea and not lazy at all. If I had more money or didn't live across the country (East Coast), I would have made a huge effort to get to see that show.

I am still going to check the site for limited time magic in the hope something appears Feb 1-7, but I will still be in Disney; am hoping that the lack of special limited time magic means our lines will be short!

I am a tiny bit grumbly because they advertised 52 weeks of magic, and seem to think that completing an online survey or being able to purchase merchandise is "magic" enough for some weeks.

Thanks, guys. I'll be sure to keep looking. Short lines would be glorious, but I sure don't want to see my money disappearing. ;) Here's to hoping for something awesome.:thumbsup2
