My fiance and I just returned from a lovely trip to the World. :lovestruc We had a great time but couldn't help but be disappointed by the lack of basically anything special about True Love week. It was a factor in us booking during this week and there was hardly anything different for the week. The only main differences were at MK in the form of special photo opportunities (3-4) and the princesses were appearing with their princes (for a 120 minute wait). We found out later there was a special show with the princesses and their princes but didn't know about this until we were back at the resort at the end of the day as it wasn't highly publicized.

I just think there was so much more they could've done with this! Imagine in Epcot each country sharing how their cultures celebrate love or DHS highlighting romance films. I don't know... I just expected more than a few extra photo opps if this is what WDW's entire theme is built on offering special weeks. Besides our one day in MK, there wasn't anything different. Disney could've done so much better.

And welcome to the frustration that is LTM week.

Smile... The week I went we were there for the last day of "forgotten character week" and then from Monday-Thursday there was no promotion until, Thursday, they decided that it was football week (due to Superbowl) so they had a lame parade and large groups from regional schools coming to march in the parade... Which meant that we were contending with a huge group of teenagers that were touring the park who wouldn't have been there if it wasn't for the stupid LTM. Oh, and I think Cosmic Ray served special food from Fri-Sunday, which was great because we ate there Weds and they had the same old menu.

It was great, we went to MK on Monday and Tues and I ran around asking the CMs what the special was and they said it hadn't been released yet. I went to the site and it had "stay tuned!" as the promotion along with some Facebook vote on an image for 2014's dated merchandise... Which not only could be done from home, but you could see the results before you voted and you could see one image was waaaaaaay more popular then the others, which meant voting was pointless...

The super bowl one was ... not worthy of being posted on Disney's official website.

Which may be why they didn't start it until Thursday. :rotfl:

Seriously though, Monday-Thurs, we had no LTM promotion at all. I was actually pretty... Bummed.

Yep, just like the government. Lots of big talk with no accountability!

Can't speak for True Love Week at WDW but it sounds similar to the offerings here at DLR. Honestly we loved the special photo locations and also the characters (Minnie/Mickey in special attire, princes and princesses). Oh and we thought the decorated castle area was nice as well :).

My fiancée and I both had a great time and the characters were really interactive which was tons of fun. Being that it was not an additional charge I thought it was a nice extra. I agree that some weeks are more excited than others but I still really enjoy seeing what comes out each week....
