I figured out in Feb that checking them was worthless. This promo was really bad. What a lost opportunity!

Golden Horseshoe Revue tribute in January vs. Winter Wonderland in Canada around the same time (January)

New Orleans Bayou Bash vs. Superbowl Celebrations (February)

Ironman Tech by Stark Industries at Innoventions vs. Celebrate Disney Fairies Week (April)

May goes to WDW with the May the 4th be with you and Cinco de Mayo LTMs

Father's Day celebration w/Mr. Incredible and Frozone (nothing for father's day specifically at WDW)

Matterhorn themed LTM just announced vs. the streetbeat performance for WDW


I don't know...in general, it just seems like DLR's are more focused on experiences/interactions, and while there are some great experiences and interactions at WDW too it feels like (and I admit this is totally subjective) there are more merchandise themed ones...like the strawberry ear hats, or the go vintage LTMs in April.

Like I said, totally subjective and just a "feeling" on my part, not fact at all - just wondering if anyone else felt the same?

I'm happy to see them doing another Long lost friends week. I hope there'll be something like that during our WDW trip in Oct!

Disneyland has a higher percentage of visitors who are locals. If they are sticking to only announcing events at the last minute, then financially the events at DL have a greater likelihood of boosting attendance and thus dollars. I am guessing that lots are annual passholders, but even without a ticket sale they are making money on food and other things purchased in the park.

For some of the events (e.g., Bayou Bash) weren't "new" for DLR. They added some elements, but the basic concept had occurred previously. So they could seem more elaborate because they were already planned into the operating budget.
