Limited Room Availability late Nov early Dec

I have been looking at rooms the past few weeks and it seems there is extremely limited availability for my dates (Nov 30th through Dec 2nd). I had always read that this is a great time of year to go because of low crowds. Any ideas why there are almost no rooms available? I can't pay $1200 a night for a room, that's just insane!

So just two nights? Disney's room availability programming sometimes makes booking shorter stays more difficult. Do you see more availability if you search for something longer around those dates?

Other than that, the secret is out that it's a good time to go!

The crowd advice you just described is outdated. Late November/early December will be packed.

Sorry, checking out on December 3rd so three nights. I only need three nights as we are staying with friends for the previous 4 nights. Maybe I could play around with the dates and then call to see if I could book a shorter reservation, I didn't think about that.

Yeah, even three can be tricky. I would try calling - Disney's website has been all sorts of wonky lately in terms of what it shows as available. Sometimes it's right, but sometimes not.

It's no longer a low crowd time--we've been going that week for 6 years. I wish it were, but there's no availability and that's not a good sign. Now that they added that week to the Free Dining special package, more folks than ever are happy to go then. Week before Thanksgiving is a better bet, and mid December is good, too.

I am having the same issue with Halloween Week. 10/30 thru 11/5 but there is Halloween Food and Wine the half marathon on the 5th I believe I am also a DVC member and cant book more than a couple days even at OKW or SSR. Seems like there are no more low crowds just less or more packed.

This time of the year has been getting increasingly busy as more and more people "discovered" that this was a nice time to go. Now you have Thanksgiving crowd staying over and it also used to be the time when they would film the Christmas Parade for tv. Now I think that has been moved, but it is still a lot more crowded than it used to be.

I have NO idea if this could generate enough people to cause availability issues...but there's a big national financial aid conference from November 28 to December 1st. It's the only conference of its kind that doesn't have a registration fee and it's run by the Department of Education, so it tends to be very well-attended. The conference is at the Swan and Dolphin, with Coronado Springs and Port Orleans Riverside as the overflow hotels. So some blocks may be being held for that.

I've been trying to get a week at a value (nov 29th-6th) for a while now but there's nothing! Was at the world around that time last year for my birthday and I loved it. At this rate I'm gonna have to stay off property

Aside form free dining there's also pop warner championships in early December. As other have said, low season is a thing of the past.

Yep, there has been limited availability for December for a while. I was looking to change resorts for the first week of December and there is almost nothing available.

Good news, I found a room at POR! I've been searching the website almost daily and yesterday some new rooms popped up, one of which was at POR, which happens to be my favorite moderate. I tried booking and each of the four attempts I got through the full process, input my credit card and attempted to checkout, only to receive an error message that the rooms were no longer available. I then decided to call. It took about 30 minutes but the castmember was finally able to get the room booked for me, even he had to put me on hold to get some tech support. Apparently the system is going through some upgrades and it's causing some problems with bookings.

So, for those of you that are still looking, I highly suggest calling!
