Limited-edition Disney MagicBands available for final Star Wars Weekends

Star Wars fans now have the opportunity to show their love for the franchise on their wrists with Disney MagicBands.

For the final weekend of Star Wars Weekends at Disney's Hollywood Studios June 13-15, two limited-edition Star Wars-themed MagicBands will be available at "Darth's Mall," the merchandise location found between Toy Story Midway Mania and Studio Backlot Tour.

The pre-printed images on the bands include Yoda with a green and white color scheme and Darth Vadar with a red and white design.

According to Steven Miller, Merchandise Commuications Manager for Disney Parks, only 2,500 bands of each design are available and guests will be limited to a purchase limit of two MagicBands per style, per guest, per day.

Each MagicBand comes in a decrotive Star Wars Weekends box that "comes to life" using the Aurasma app on a mobile device.

Disney's MagicBands are the wristbands at the heart of the company's billion-dollar MyMagic+ technology system, which allows visitors to make ride reservations, pay for food and merchandise and unlock the door of their Disney Resort hotel room, along with other benefits.

MagicBands can be linked to existing park tickets as well as annual passes.

Other new merchandise for the final three days of Star Wars Weekends include Father's Day-inspired merchandise like a "Galaxy's Best Dad" T-shirt as well as merchandise promoting the upcoming Disney XD animated series "Star Wars Rebels."

The Star Wars themed Magic Bands are priced at $29.95 per band.
