Limited Concierge questions...

I am aware that the GF and CR have "limited" concierge available...do any other resorts?

I was looking at this option because our family doesn't drink alcohol & I don't like the idea of paying for something I wouldn't use. However, how much of the other concierge amenities do you lose going for the more limited option?

I read on allears that the CR Tower club doesn't even offer soda or bottled water. So is it only the continental breakfast & nothing else? Would it be worth leaving our current standard rooms at the Poly?

How about the Lodge Concierge at GF--What good stuff/bad stuff can you share with me?

Or is it better to forego the limited concierge and just switch to Poly garden concierge if I decide I want to upgrade?

Oh, last question--I promise!--are these rooms ever available at AAA or code rates?

The 12th Floor CR 'concierge light' is available with AAA discount (at least it is for my dates of travel)

Limited concierge....a much better term than light, I think ;) ... provides all the services of full concierge.

No concierge is offering single bottles of water anymore unless that has changed recently. Don't know about soda pop on the 12th floor but Sugar Loaf doesn't have pop out but I don't think RPC does either. I believe you can ask for a cup though. My two pop drinkers drink diet rite and caffeine free coke so we buy our own anyway.

The only difference between SL and RPC besides location is alcohol and desserts.

While we enjoyed our two stays in Sugar Loaf, I would pick the Polynesian concierge over it in a heart beat. Nothing wrong with Sugar Loaf but the offerings at the Polynesian are better I think and you can't beat the location and views of Hawaii.

I don't know about code rates, but AAA and AP discounts are available for concierge. Apparently it is rather rare to get a discount for RPC but that could be one of those "truths" on these boards that is inaccurate. I have never tried myself.

I don't know about the CR, but at the GF, their lodge concierge does not serve wine/beer with dinner and they do not have the late night desserts and cordials offering. Other than that, there are cold drinks available from 7am-10pm daily. I believe in a cost cutting measure, that none of the concierge lounges supply you with bottled water anymore. We were at the YC in December and there were only large glass bottles.

You get the same great services at GF lodge concierge that you get in the main building. A pre-planning staff to assist you before your vacation, private check in, a secure building, the same food offerings (with the exceptions noted above) and on site CM's. The lounge is not as big as the main building, IMO it looks more like a bed & breakfast, small and cozy. Room views are limited to marina or garden and you won't be able to see the castle from your balcony. You have your choice of a standard room, dormer room or tower room. The standards will sleep up to 5 (over the age of 3) and both the dormer and tower will sleep up to 4 (over the age of 3). The tower is nice because you get a little extra space from the living room area and a 2nd tv.
