Lilo Hawaii state pin

I just received this pin (# 14903) today in a trade and was upset to see that the paint across the word "Hawaii" looked like it was smudged. Then I looked on pinpics and saw that the picture there showed the same lines across the word. Are they all like this? Is it supposed to be some kinda wave break in the water under the word?

If I think about it -- I will have to really look at mone. I don't recall anything.
I did have another pin from WDW with this same problem. I bought one at WDW during our last day.
Once I got home and saw the wording was badly smudged and steaked. It was blue and just looked like wet blue paint and been streaked across the wording.
I called WDW. They sent me another.
That one was not as bad, but the same problem.

I thought maybe all were defective and posted on a board asking. No one else reported it.
Odds didn't seem good to me.
I exchanged them for a good one on the rack the next time I was there.

Just looked at the one DD has on her lanyard and it is fine. No lines at all.
