probably a very stupid question but is there a cafe or somewhere we can get a drink/something to eat?

Yes, there is. It's just a regular train station.

Yes and there is also a Quick Hamburger just outside the station ...

I found it to be much more scarce than a normal train station. The day we left there was nothing open and it was a Friday evening!!

There were some vending machines though

I recall there being a very small cafe where you get off the Eurostar, but it was not open at 7pm when we were going back

there is in fact a very big shopping centre just over the road you will see the quick burger place, if you head for that and go up the escolators you will see quite a few food places we had 3 hours at lille waiting for the eurostar when the strikes were on so we went for a wander
