Hi guys, a few questions:

1) Do they have lifejackets to use for the kids or do you have to bring your own? Can the kids wear the lifejackets on the slides?

2) Are there any height restrictions on the slides?

3) Is the water in the pool(s) heated?

4) Was there an extra cost for anything at the resort? Mini golf? Bumper boats? I heard someone say they had to pay for laundry and dishsoap? What if you bring your own? What other hidden costs?

5) What is up with the timeshare presentations? We would never buy a timeshare as we couldn't afford one. And we aren't really interested in the presentation even for free stuff, as we have small kids and they wouldn't sit through it, nor would we feel safe leaving them with people we don't know. If you book through a travel site such as travelocity, tripadvisor or expedia, do you have to attend the presentation? Do they continually pressure you to attend these presentations?

Anything else we should know?

We were there for New Years, but it wasn't warm enough for me to know the answers to your first three questions. They do say they charge for certain extra supplies. That is typical for laundry detergent, so I always bring my own. I also bring a few extra dishwasher tablets as they never seem to leave enough.

During timeshare tours, if you or your children would not be comfortable if you're separated, certainly say so and take them along. A bit of fretting on their part might actually get you out of there a little quicker. I recall one dirty diaper that did that for us.

The only time this backfired is when we took our 15 and 10 year olds to a presentation where the speaker made some marginally off-color references. I was offended and made it clear to the salesman and his closer.

At Liki Tiki, they only offered us $50 for a presentation since we were already timeshare owners. We declined and they never upped the offer as many places do.

If you book a special rate that includes a timeshare presentation you have to attend or they will charge you the full rate. If you go through a site like Travelocity there is no obligation. If they ask just say no and they will leave you alone.

If the rate sounds too good to be true check the fine print. If you still aren't sure if a timeshare presentation is a requirement call and ask. Plenty of timeshare resorts rent out to nonmembers with no tour obligations, it's a way to help keep the maintenance fees down for the owners.
