Likely hood that CM will open up?

Has anyone ever had any success with calling daily to see if a ressies opens up? We have another party joining us at the end of the month. (They decided last night to go.) We have reservations for CM on the 26 at 7:50. I called today to see if they could add this other party anytime that day, and they said it was completly sold out. Is it really worth calling daily to see if anything opens up?
