I have just returned from a 11 night/ 12 day trip to Orlando and have stayed at The Liki Tiki Village in Winter Garden. At first we were hestitant about booking this resort...as it seemed too good to be true. It seemed like there were so many ammentities and weren't paying very much for them! I did a little research and didn't find all that many reviews or pictures on this place. I made it my goal to make sure I came back with lots of information!

I would give this resort a very high rating! When going back to Disney World, we will always stay at this location, unless staying on-site! They have a very nice waterpark for kids (even my husband and I enjoyed some of the slides), a little restaraunt/bar right next to the pool, a lagoon with water activities (paddle boats, bumper boats), basketball courts, tennis courts, shuffle board, a large playground in the sand, 2 other pools (heated) besides the waterpark area!

When checking into the resort they were VERY friendly and accomodating! After recieving our room keys, our harbor pass (which gave us all free activities for the trip) we were sent to the "welcome desk" where we recieved a very SHORT pitch for their time share program. This was the one and only time that we recieved any sort of sales pitch! I went straight to the room to decorate and put the kids "tinkerbell" bags in there, while DH took the kids over by the waterpark. When I walked into the room...much to my surprise I saw all of this...

My husband had worked with the staff to have all this put into our room before our arrival. There was a card, fresh flowers, balloons, champagne and Disney candies and cookies! Not only did they make a beautiful display...there was also a card for my DH (who was on R&R from Iraq) signed by the entire Liki Tiki Staff!

We were in a new building, our villa was all one floor. We had the 2 bedroom, and it was PERFECT!

Master Bedroom/Master Bath.

The beds were comfortable and the bathrub jets were awesome! The water pressure in the shower lacked a bit though! Very MINOR complaint!

This is the screened in porch off of the living room!

All in all...I give the room a 5! It was very spacious, and very accomodating!!!

Next up...the waterpark/pools. AWESOME! I can't say nearly enough about them. The water was heated...which made it easy to take the baby in. The slides were fun, but not too large so my 5 year old had a great time going down them! Plus, they play music by the waterpark, all day long!

And the lagoon/play area...I forgot to mention before...also has a mini golf course. Not huge, or hard...but perfect for little kids!

I had previously read that if you get one of the older rooms, those aren't so great. We had some friends at the resort with us for the first few days of our vacation and they were put in the older rd it!o had no complains and said they really liked it!o had no complains and said they really liked it!o had no complains and said they really liked it!o had no complains and said they really liked it!

I also wanted to mention that there is a Super Walmart about 5 minutes away, a Publix grocery store about 2 mintues away, Disney World about 10 minutes and Universal Studios/Sea World area about 25 minutes! I hope people can get some use from this...as I had a hard time finding anything! If you have any questions or doubts, please feel free to message me!

We stayed there a few years ago and had no complaints either. Just to clarify: Liki Tiki isn't exactly in Winter Gardens, it's on the west end of 192 less than a mile from the intersection with 27. The address for Liki Tiki says Winter Gardens but it's just off 192. :)

Thanks for the reviews! I am sitting here right now planning our 2009 trip and trying to "get over" not staying on-site. This resort is one of many I have looked into. Glad to hear you give it a :thumbsup2.

Mickey's Friend- I noticed you replyed to my Orbit One report. You may already know this, but if you stay at Orbit One you can visit Liki Tiki for the water park. I think it was a little over $5 for the car full. We didnt get over there but it sounded fun especially for the kids. If you can get past the time share presentation, you might want to consider Westgate. They had a bunch of activities for families and the movie theater with the Disney movies. Grammy

We stayed there a few years ago and were also very happy. The staff was very friendly and accommadating. We had to drag the kids away from there to go to Disney. Right now I'm trying to decide between going there and taking the grandparents with us or staying in a one bedroom without them at Old Key West.

So happy I found this post today. I booked a 2 bedroom about a month ago for a trip I'm taking in Dec. I have been going back and forth about maybe staying on property. Just thinking that Liki Tiki is too good to be true. I mean I'm paying like $80 a night for a 2 bedroom. Disney wants $315 a night. Well your post confirmed me to stay at Liki Tiki.

Thanks

Thanks for the great info, we are considering this resort and are too, trying to get over not staying onsite...

Did you request a newer room and if so, how did you do it? Additionally, who did you book the Liki Tiki through? Did you go directly through them or use a third party vendor?

Thanks, we are looking to stay there potentially in 2 weeks.

Should I be seeing pictures?

We will be staying at Liki Tiki from 11/29 - 12/06. We stayed there last year and had an AWESOME time. Can't wait to get back!! :)

Can you repost the photos again (or maybe your photo server is down for a bit?)

I would love to see photos of this place..

:thumbsup2 Hate to give out my secret, but I love it there, so close to a huge superwalmart, and it is quiet and quick to Disney. We even stayed there during the two back to back hurricanes in August, and never had a problem, we do stay in the new sections, do go, it is really okay there, no Disney themeing, or transport, but still okay with me:thumbsup2

Can anyone tell me where/what is the best way to make a ressie for liki tiki....and can you only stay there for 3 nights??
