This is a silly question but I have always wondered why they shut the interior lights off on the buses once they start moving in the evening? Is it easier for the driver to see?
During World War II motorists in some cities (Honolulu being the example here) had to paint over part of their car headlights as part of "blackout rules". The Honolulu Rapid Transit bus drivers for awhile turned off the lights inside the buses to improve the drivers' visibility. They found that vandalism and sexual harassment inside the bus increased and after a few months the company policy was to have the lights on.
Maybe if the airlines did not turn on the cabin lights until the plane reached the gate, fewer people would get up to retrieve their luggage while the plane was still taxiing. Note that these are the same people who have to stand while riding on the Disney buses.
i am trying to plan our time at dw and would like to know how early and how late the busses and monorail run. we are staying at the cbr in dw. thanks!!!!!!!!!
