I read today that among other attractions at DHS that LMA is closing. Is this true??? If so I'm seriously concerned about the lack of attractions that I'm beginning to see there. Is this possibly the beginning of a process to revamp the park??

Yes, it's true. And yes, it's all a part of the upcoming and announced construction projects to add Star Wars and Toy Story.

April 2nd, here is everything that's closing:
LMA
HISTK Playground
Stores:
Youse Guys Moychindise
Watto's Grotto
Prop Shop
Writer's Stop
Quick Service:
Studio Catering
Character Meet:
Monsters Inc.

Sounds like you got a lot of reading up to do.

I guess so! I had heard plenty of rumors but didn't know that this was official news. I really liked LMA. I'm wondering if this should effect my planning for DHS during my July trip now though.

Unfortunately, it is in fact true.

Hate to see it go for many reasons. Have a lot of racing buddies that work there and they are all out of jobs come April. On track they are good, still. Hate to see this attraction go. One of my favourites.

Still plenty to do at DHS .. a lot of my visits there and sometimes I would never even venture to the back of the park once they closed Backlot Tour.

I've seen this repeated over and over. What is the 'plenty' to do with all the closures? Rock n roller coaster, Tower of Terror, Toy Story, Great Movie Ride, Indiana Jones and a couple shows.

Timing of shows takes a big chunk of the day, and we always ride Star Tours multiple times. We will have no trouble filling up a day or more at DHS.

ETA: we don't even do RNRC or ToT

Yes, but that doesn't mean they're wrong. I've been to HS many times now, and I couldn't really even tell you where some of those things that are closing are. There is still a lot to do there, it just may seem like it's going to be empty given the closures. You'll notice things are closed, sure, but I would say there's plenty to do as well. Now, if all you did was attend some of those shows that are closing, then yeah, I guess you could say there won't be much to do.

One can only hope...

Just depends on what shows you are interested and the PACE of your group and how OFTEN you've been there. If the shows aren't your thing, then yes .. not much to do there at all. On my last trip we did 3 rides (Star Tours several times), 5 shows, (not LMA or Indiana Jones), some M&Gs, lunch, dinner, some "extras" (dance party, build a lightsaber, watch Jedi Training, Frozen Boutique) and were there for 11 hours and didn't even ride Tower of Terror, GMR, or see Beauty and the Beast, Indy or LMA).

If you go to 3-4 shows .. they each take up at least 30-40 minutes each (if you count in waiting for show to start . .and then the show itself . .and then exiting) .. throw in two meals, the rides and the "extras" . .and this is one full day.

If I would got to DHS again this year? I would be excited to do the things we missed and new Star Wars stuff.
I would do all the same stuff (maybe even try TSMM twice!), maybe see Indy and Beauty and the Beast (instead of Frozen or Little Mermaid) .. and spend a lot of time in the Launch Bay and even wait for those M&Gs) ... I would stay late to see Star Wars fireworks and Fantasmic this time.

we don't do RNRC or ToT either, and even with the attractions as they were we still would end up doing at least 2 twice usually. We didn't do everything but we did most. We would have to do a lot more twice soon if we went during when a lot of things were closed

Depends on who you're traveling with. I have teen boys and no way would they be caught dead seeing Little Mermaid or BATB show. Take away Disney Junior the only shows left are IJ and the Muppets.

And Fantasmic and Frozen and the fireworks assuming they stick around

DD kept telling me on our Nov 2015 trip that LMA would be closing and we needed to go one last time. To pass it on I made a co-worker who was also on vacation go with us. She had never seen the show and she enjoyed going and even more so now because of the closure announcement.

As a youngster DD was picked to be the remote control driver!!!!

we are going next month and we will see the LMA one last time. ( i've seen it once, the wife and step son never have )
