Lights! Motor! Asian?--Feb 2010 Part II. 11/6-Pix, part 2. Page 199.

Oooooh! Marv! Now you've made me cry! :sad1:

I didn't realize you just had a major loss too Marv.
Well, even though I didn't know this and I'm not one of the one's who's been there to help you through, I want you to know that I am now. I've lifted each and everyone of you up in prayer today, may you feel the comfort of the Lord and the peace only He can give in this situations.
Marv, I've only just begun....is that a song?....to get to know you on here and I hope that we can become fast friends. :goodvibes
Thanks Camille, that is so sweet! I appreciate it so much. We can never have enough friends, especially those who find the time to lift us up in prayers! It was tough this past weekend celebrating DS21 getting his college ring at Parent's weekend. My Dad was able to come be a part of the festivities, but there was still a hole there where Mom should have been!:sad1:

BTW, after being so nice, I don't know how I am going to be able to pick on you in the future........but I'll do my best! :rolleyes1

Just to add a few more misty eyes....my family and I have been going through a tough time lately with my brother-in-law being diagnosed with cancer, his hospital stay and, then, just a few weeks after being diagnosed, his death. My Disboard friends were there with me every step of the way. I can't imagine not having them in my life. Walt Disney would be proud to know that our love for Disney has brought us all together.:grouphug:

Ooooh, Lisa. I'm so so sorry!
It's so true, over this last year we've had a lot of our DIS brothers and sisters lose some very important people in their lives. :sad1:
It's amazing to see how everyone rally's together to support one another.
:grouphug:

Jordy started his journey on these boards with the loss of many people in his life, in one year no less. Jordan has said many times he wouldn't have gotten through his trials with out all the amazing people he's met on these boards. :lovestruc The same as you Lisa.
Be comforted, be blessed each and everyone of you who's loss someone.

Thank you so much! My Disboard friends were such a comfort to me at the time I needed them the most. I agree, it's amazing to see how we all rally together to support one another....in the worst of times and in the best of times.

Marv, you are truly welcome. I can't imagine how tough this last weekend was in light of the milestone you were celebrating.
Congrats on your DS21's ring day!! Do y'all call it ring day? My son's school- Texas A&M-call it Ring Day and it's tradition (everything there is a tradition ) to have the ring put into a pitcher of beer, or milk or what have you. Then, you have to drink the pitcher of ---- to get to your ring, in order to be able to wear it. Goofy, but it's....TRADITION.

As for the last part of your message.....I have no doubts in your abilities.

Really sweet of you to do that Tanya! And thanks for the update. Even though Glenn is the only one on here I have actually met (at least that I know of) I feel like so many on here are like family (well, in some cases maybe even better). :rotfl: You can always count on the people here to provide not just fun, but love and support when you need it! That is what makes it so great to spend time here with friends. :woohoo:
Prayers sent for not just your family or your request, but also for you that you will be filled with warm and pleasant memories of your grandma that will help give you peace!

Ooooh, sweetie. I'm so sorry I didn't see this until now. You'll never rub the wrong way with this gang. :sad2: This is the kind of group that will always lift one another up, and well verbally rough one another up too! :rotfl: You totally have my support and prayers, let us know if there's anything else we can do for you.

Amen, Rosie. I couldn't have said it better myself.

::yes:: Well said Marv. :goodvibes

Welcome to the maddness.....er, I mean family. :goodvibes So sorry about your loss Tanya, I just noticed your siggie with the dates just the other day, and I'm truly sorry for you.
And your so right, for every jab or tease, there is lots of support and hugs, and prayers to go around. :) I just wish we all lived closer to one another, giving a hug in person would just be the icing on the cake.

Thank you so much to everyone. I cannot express how truly bless I feel to have all of you supporting me. I love you all so much! Your thoughts are truly helping me get through this. I will carry them in my heart as I carry the coffin inside the church this saturday. Thank you!

Finally back to catching up around here.

For everyone who has suffered a loss, special thoughts for all of you. Sorry it seems like a mass mailing of sorts but I am afraid I will leave someone out if I start to name names.

After my great computer crash and time out of town, I am finally home and trying to re-establish the links etc.

If I have not been around to your PTR or TR, please forgive me. I am trying to catch up this weekend in between doing laundry etc.

There is no rhyme or reason to who I visit when. I will say the longer ones I may leave to when I have some time to properly catch up.

I really hope we will be able to have some sort of Peepfest. I have had a blast meeting every person I had the pleasure of setting up a meet or bumping into so I can only imagine the fun Peepfest would be.

Offically caught up.

Pat!!! :yay:

It was so great to meet you/kidnap you, force you to drink strong drink and then eat food you may or may not have liked! :rotfl:

At least I dropped you back off the same place I managed to steal you away from. :goodvibes

And I have a few pictures to prove it! Noooow, to get these pictures on here......

I'll have to wait until my DH or DS can help me with the pics.

Glad you made it home safely and had such a great time. :goodvibes

Hey everyone! I am mostly a reader not a poster on Jordan's reports. But, I had to post this picture of the shirt my DIL had on last week when we were at Disney. When I saw it all I could do was smile and think of Jordan. I hope everything is going well for him. Jordan this is for you.

Hi everyone... here I am sitting in the hotel room in lovely Dry Ridge, Kentucky... I arrived at 6:45am after a red eye flight in which a little boy I was trying to entertain in front of me, sometime during the night threw up on the seat and on my bag under the seat in front of me. Lovely  Anyway, picked up the rental car, and headed over to the hotel... alas, no room at the inn and I just waited in the lobby until Jordan got there... around 8:30 he came by and we went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast... mmm. Got me some biscuits and gravy and bacon and yum yum hot chocolate. Apparently they must have thought we were from Japan (where many people smoke) because they didn't even ask "smoking or non smoking" and just put us in the smoking section. Fortunately, we weren't really near the smokers so it wasn't too bad...

Afterwards - no luck back at the inn so off we went to Wal-Mart :woohoo: Saw some classic hunting wear (men dressed from head to toe in the same color outfit) and got some good deals. Dylan got a Toy Story 3-piece outfit (tank, tshirt and pants) for a whopping $7!! Gotta love that.

Then it was back to the "ranch" as they call it... went to Pure Life's campus. Soooooo beautiful. I'll post pictures after I get home (can't upload while I'm here). It's great now too because of the fall colors. Anyway, I met a bunch of the people here (all wonderful people!) and checked out Jordan's living arrangements... went to the prayer time they had - SO AWESOME - these guys are amazing and so thankful for all God has done/is doing in their lives and their burden for others is inspirational. It really seems like an amazing place here, with lots of transformational work being done here. It's a good thing.

Anyway - after that, we headed back to check into the hotel and rest a bit... Jordan's going homework now, I'm snacking and DISing and then will either take a little nap or maybe grab lunch...

Will keep you posted on more later... will be taking Jordan back to drop him off before the evening movie tonight and then going to the airport to pick up his parents and then back to the ranch...

Thanks all for your support! Everyone here is being blessed by our support of Jordan... :grouphug:

Thanks for the update, Wendy!! Great to hear that he is healing and that so many are pouring into his life in such a positive way!

Send my love,

Liesa

Smoking....BLAH! I LOVE Cracker Barrel!! We've actually eaten there twice this week  Come on down to visit me Wendy since you are so close and you can eat in a non-smoking CB! :rotfl:

I'm SO glad things are going well with Jordan! I wish there was a way I could get up there to visit him!! If Dawn and I didn't have infants I think we would be taking a ROAD TRIP!!!! :upsidedow

We are on our way home from Disney.....spending the night in GA. We had a great time!! Here's a link to my TR if you would like to come check it out! Suprise Trip :woohoo:

Hope you, Derek, and the kiddo's are good!!! :grouphug:

So glad to hear an update, Wendy. Thanks. :)

Glad to hear Jordan is doing well! We miss him!! *hugs*

Great T-shirt! :thumbsup2

Wendy! Several of us have been wondering when we'd start hearing from you about this trip. :goodvibes It's so good to hear from you and it's also good to hear about how Jordy is doing!!

I can only imagine how beautiful it is up there this time of the year, the leaves changing never gets old. It's the only down fall to living in a state where it doesn't really get cold in the fall. Be sure to take lost of pics of how pretty it is there.

Can't wait to hear more about your visit and how Jordy's coming along. It blesses me to hear what I've heard this far. :lovestruc
I'm hoping he received the box that was sent out about a couple weeks ago, if he needs anything more be sure to let us know. :)
Please tell him we love him and miss him more than he could possibly know, prayers are still very much going out.

GROSS!!!!...about the kid throwing up on/in your purse!! :scared1: Not a great way to start off the trip, but glad you got there safely. Derek said on FB that he is holding down the fort and seems to be doing a great job....or at least that's what he's telling us on FB. ;) hee hee

Anyway, it is so good that you and his parents finally get to go see him. I'm sure he has really been looking forward to that. :cloud9:

Thanks for sending updates to us here on the DIS. Looking forward to seeing those pictures when you have a chance.

Wanted to pass long some hellos from CA while I'm hear with Erin, Dylan and Ashlyn while Wendy's still in Kentucky (coming home tomorrow). Been a busy weekend but enjoying the quality time with the kids.

Yeah, I'm trying to hold down the lil one's and avoid a Gulliver's Travel incident....hee hee.

So far my parents have been helping me out and even gave me a break to watch the Dallas-Vikings game, only to see my Cowboys lose...AGAIN.

Thanks for the well wishes. Loved your photo on your TR with all the luggage hanging in by the cargo net. Always wondered if that would work if our tailgate ever opened up on a long trip.:rotfl:

Hi y'all

Well, last I left you I was on my way to pick up my aunt/uncle... all went well and I picked them up, got my uncle on the rental car agreement, and then we went and checked into the hotel and then went back to the "ranch" to get Jordan. When we got there, the evening movie was still finishing, so we went inside to finish the movie ("The Radicals" a true story based on some of the key characters in the reformation) and then he introduced his folks to some of the people there, showed them around a little bit (interiors only since it was dark) and then we headed back to Cracker Barrel for dinner (one of the only places open for dinner that late...). My meal was soooo good (Rainbow Trout, hashbrown casserole, sauteed carrots and fried apples...) and Jordan got the Saturday night chicken special... chicken tenderloins with creamy mushroom gravy over rice pilaf... sooooo yummy. His mom got the chicken noodle soup, which was almost more like a chicken stew and when he was trying some of her soup, and was bringing his spoon back over the table to eat it, a big glob fell off and landed in her coffee. It was waaaaaaay funny. Jordan, his mom and I couldn't stop giggling about it and his dad was talking about something else and we kept giggling and he kept thinking we were laughing about what he was talking about and couldn't figure out why (he didn't see what happened). So that made the whole thing even more hilarious. :rotfl2:

Anyway, then it was back to bed at the hotel... up this morning to go to service at Pure Life... it was really amazing... it was 2.5 hours long but it didn't feel like that at all... between worship songs, testimonies and the message it was all very moving and inspirational and convicting. So far I was 2 for 2 for crying when I was in the chapel... I think they have recordings or podcasts of the messages, if I find it I'll let you guys know. There's nothing like being there though. After service, we chatted with the guys a little more and then headed out to City Barbeque in Florence (on a recommendation of one of the guys) for the best BBQ that we've ever had! It was sooooo yummy... I had the pulled pork sandwich, corn pudding and fries with cheese and bacon, and Jordan had the sampler with mini sandwiches - pulled pork, sausage and brisket. And the peach cobbler was to die for, the crust was amazing (and the crust is the key to good cobbler!). We were all so full that we all had to go back and take our afternoon naps :thumbsup2

Then at 6pm we headed over to the "ranch" to attend Sunday evening book study on mercy... but instead, this Sunday they showed a movie called "The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry", and then gave some homework to be done on the mercy elements in the film. If any of you are interested, it's a great film about the impact a godly man has on 4 boys... it's very good and even for kids I think it'd be very inspirational... after that, more chit chatting and then since we were all still full from lunch (did I say, SO YUM??) we just went through drive thru to pick up dinner and then back to the hotel to rest and get to sleep... (right now we're just watching Hitch... looooove that movie) and then may Skype with Derek in a bit and then hit the hay - even though it's only 7:30pm CA time, I'm already tired... ha).

It's been so great getting to talk to the guys here and learning more about them from Jordan. Their journeys here are amazing and especially how God is working in their lives after being here.

Thank you all for your continued prayers for him and if you think about it, pray for the other guys here as they all are working to grow in their faith and be better husbands and fathers when they go home. Also pray for their provision as many are sending all their earnings home to provide for their families, and so they are struggling too with managing for enough food and other daily necessities. It's so great to see their dedication though to the program knowing it's only going to make things better at home.

Well, just wanted to give an update... not sure what we're doing tomorrow... probably hitting Wal Mart one more time... probably seeing the ranch again... and then heading to the airport... maybe we might hit the creation museum if we can...

Anyway - will update later when I get home... g'nite y'all!

Glad to hear the trip and Jordan's time at PureLife is a blessing.

Looking forward to the pics and returning to normalcy at the homestead (we all miss mommy).:lovestruc
