We just received a call that our tour in March has been cancelled. The CM on the phone said that all of these tours had been cancelled, but didn't know why. :confused3

Oh, that's a shame! I was really hoping to take it sometime next year. Ah, well... :confused3

Thanks for letting us know!

This really, really surprises me. We took this adventure in July and it exceeded our expectation tremendously, to the point that we originally were going to come back for a second day in Hollywood, but felt like we saw so much that we allotted that other day for an extra day in Disneyland. I hope Disney reconsiders, because this tour was the PERFECT way to see Hollywood stress-free while on a Disneyland vacation.

My only guess would be not enough people taking it... our tour date had to be rescheduled because for the day we signed up for initially, we were the only party for the whole day. I think a lot more people would be interested in it if they knew about it!

We'd booked this for next August (for 5) and were so looking forward to it.

I received an email a couple of days ago advising that it was cancelled - no reason given, just some waffle that ABD regularly evaluate their tour offerings and have decided to discontinue this tour from February.

So disappointed :(

Has anyone received anything different about their future tours? The new Disney Time sweepstakes is offering Lights, Camera, Magic as part of some of their prize packages. I'm wondering if Adventures by Disney changed their mind, or someone at Disney Time didn't know it was discontinued.

I was wondering the same thing. Interesting...

Just saw that too, was swinging over here to ask if anyone knows! Would really love to take this tour on our April trip....
Well, seeing as everything involved pretty much belongs to Disney, they could always put together a special tour just for the winners who choose that, without it having to be a regularly scheduled thing. But it is curious, as you'd think they'd be including it as an advertisement for the tour.

It seems the mystery has been solved. Kathy Jetson in the DLR Picture of the Day thread pointed out that Disney has changed the sweepstakes description to a 6-hour VIP guide instead of Lights, Camera, Magic. Looks like it really is cancelled, after all. But I'm glad the mistake was corrected to avoid confusion!

It still lists the "Lights, Camera, Magic!" ABD in the Official Rules...

Maybe they just haven't updated those yet. I imagine it's just semantics at this point... :confused3

There was also an article about this ABD in our DVC magazine last month. I know they have to prepare the magazine in advance, but it sure made it seem like canceling was a fairly quick decision.

I was on the DVC member cruise last week and the one of the VPs for ABD was onboard giving a presentation. After the presentation I went up to him and asked if there are any plans of bring this tour back and he said there are no plans to bring this back.

Thanks for the info!
