What is the best way to learn Lightroom? Online tutorials? Book? Class?

I am very good on software, but have very limited experience on any photo-editing software more complex than Picasa.

Thanks!

The book Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 for digital photographers by Scott Kelby has helped me a lot, along with advice I have read here on these boards.

Ditto.

I'll also add that the processing part is easier to get a grasp on. You can just work your way down the panel. The organization part, to me anyway, can take some getting used to.

Thank you so much. It seems pretty user friendly, but still more than my ability at this time.

Have you tried out the tutorial? I'm not very savvy at processing images, but I was absolutely sold on Lightroom 3 from the first moment I tried it. It is SO easy to use. I'm still not on board with the organization feature, I still use the one I've been using for years. (Don't tell anyone around here though. They'll think I'm change averse or something.........) I'm sure I'll get there too one day, but if I use it for nothing more than exposure and noise reduction, it will have been well worth the cost. BTW..... did you know that you can get it at a reduced price if you have full-time student (any age) from one of the educational software sites?

Ditto the Scott Kelby book, they really should just include it with every copy. I can't recommend it highly enough and it is well worth the purchase...

I used this web site to purchase InDesign CS5. Great discounts and real easy to use. You download the software and they give you the instructions to install it. You do not get anything else with your purchase though. Might be something to check out if you want to save some money.

I recommend the Learn By Video DVD by Tim Grey and Mikkel Aaland.

They do a great job of breaking down the basics, and I like that I am able to have the DVD running while I have Lightroom 3 open. So while Grey and Aaland are explaining something, I can follow along with my copy of Lightroom. I bought the DVD for about $32 on Amazon.

Last night I bought the book so I'll get it this week. I am a teacher and a student, so I'm excited to hear about the awesome discounts.

Good to know there is a tutorial and a DVD out there. I will definitely check into these things. :)

+1 for Kelby's book.
There's also lightroom killer tips podcast/online video (free)
