Lightning Lane rule - spacing between rides?

We'll be booking our Lightning Lanes soon for an upcoming trip and this is our first time under the new Multipass system. My question - is the same rule still in effect where you have to book times that are at least 1 hour apart, or can you book them closer together now? For example, when you pre-book 3 rides in a day, can you book them for 9:00, 9:30 and 10:00 (assuming those times would be available)? We'll be planning our rides with similar locations in mind, so we wouldn't be zig-zagging around the parks. Even 45 minutes apart would be a game changer for us!

Thanks!!

IIRC, when you first book your LL’s, the system will default to offering you time slots that are at least one hour apart. You can absolutely modify the times before you confirm them, though. I’ve had 3 LL’s that all had rerun times within about 45 minutes. The system will warn you that you have overlapping plans. Be aware that dining reservations will totally affect the times the LL initially offers you when you book them at your 7 day mark.

I just booked some and it wouldn’t let me book if there was a 30min overlap, but would at 40min. Example I couldn’t book a 9-10am and 9:30-10:30, but could book 9:40-10:40. I kept getting a pop up saying they were too close when I tried to do closer times and wouldn’t let me continue. Maybe there’s a way around that though? LLMP is new to me.

I had the same experience. Initially I could only book an hour in between attractions. Maybe it was 40 min, but I didn't fish around to find the smallest window. Once in the parks, our LL could overlap (including with meals) without a problem.

So just to clarify, when you were in the parks they could overlap as much as you wanted? Like could you have 2 LLs within a few minutes of each other?

I’m not the person you were asking, but in my experience, yes. I had a 10:10 and a 10:20 LL. The app just warned me that I had overlapping plans. Doing it this way can definitely work, but can also result in some power walking across the park if you aren’t careful! 😝

Yep, as described above, they overlapped almost completely. The walking wasn't bad if we tapped into one at the beginning and the other at the end.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you have up to an hour after the end of your LL window to still use the LL. If it is later, I believe it is at the discretion of the CM whether they will let you in or not.

I saw a video on All Ears that said that you can be up to 1 hour and 59 minutes late and still scan green. At 2 hours it scans blue

Has something changed? My experience is that for a LL you can be 5 minutes early or 15 minutes late. Is it really nearly 2 hours late now?

Here’s the All Ears video I saw:
Thanks. But, you know, this video is 7 months old. A lot has changed since then and also I don't have the time or inclination to watch a 24-minute-long video to possibly get to the part where they talk about the leeway on LL times.

I really wish someone on this thread or maybe it's been discussed elsewhere, could verify this 1-hour-after-expiration thing. Someone who has actual knowledge of this. And, as I keep asking, please, please, please, DIS, post a sticky about LLs. Even if it's incomplete. At least it'd be a start. Thank you.

When you say your experience is that you can be 15 minutes late, did you receive a blue ring after 15 min?

I have never tried because I'd assumed that 15 minutes was it.

ETA: I haven't been willing to test it because I don't want to lose my LLs, especially because of how much they cost.
