Lightning lane/multipass Resort guest booking extended to DCL passengers?

I’m confused. I’ve been on 10 cruises and just now finding out we can use some free DCL or Disney Internet site? I’m probably misunderstanding. I can’t go on my phone and open something Disney up and not be charged right? I’m going to the parks after the cruise can I organize some of that trip on the ship?

Yes, Disney-owned websites are free. It’s rare they load via WiFi.

DCL allows you to access Disney related websites using their WiFi while on the ship. I have tried before and the pages open, but won’t do anything else.

The LLMP/LLSP booking is only done through the app, so I honestly don't know if that will work the same as accessing a Disney website.

People staying in Disney resorts get to choose lightening lane options before others do, giving them an advantage in getting the attractions they want, at a time they want. The original poster is not questioning the use of apps. She is saying cruise guests should get the same advantages for lightening lanes as hotel guests get. I agree with her.

I'm with you Stinassmom!!

I also think if they are going to allow split stays to be stacked together (which it appears LLMP does?) then DCL cruises should count as well.

How do we petition Disney to see DCL cruisers the same as WDW resort guests for prebooking Lightning Lane/multipass reservations in advance?

Only seems fair!! Plus, we shouldn't need to purchase an onboard wifi package to access the WDW site to book, right?!?!

Who's with me?!? :mic:
I don't understand the question. Is this for a cruise that stops at Port Canaveral with a day at WDW?

Yes, you can get to the Disney websites using the free wifi. But I found out the hard way that if you have to actually log in to do something, then you need to have a purchased package. I was trying to book a ticket for Jollywood Nights when it opened up but couldn't do it without a package b/c I had to log in to my account.

No, the poster is asking about doing the advanced LL bookings (former Genie+ now called LLMP/LLSP/LLPP) for a post-cruise parks visit. Those staying at WDW resorts are able to purchase and plan starting 7 days prior to arrival; those staying offsite can purchase and plan starting 3 days prior to first park day.

The question is really whether a cruise guest can access the MDE app onboard and whether the app considers the cruise ship "non-US" since the pre-purchase LL section of the app utilizes geo-location and blocks non-North America.

Thank you for the clarification. The original post was not making sense to me without additional information. Maybe there was a previous post about the topic that I missed somewhere along the way.

I'm DVC and never use Genie+/Lightning Lanes at WDW, so I hadn't considered the ramifications of the pre-stay booking dates, or geo-location on board the ship. I learned something new today.

When I was on the Fantasy in July 2024 I was unable to book LLs. I had to have a friend at home book them for me. I tried using a VPN but MDE requires location to be enabled to buy LLs, so that didn’t work.
