Lightning Lane Availability 7 Days Out

I just went Saturday for the day, so I booked 3 days out. My starting park was Animal Kingdom and I was able to easily book the safari, Navi River and Festival of the Lion King 3 days out at 7 a.m. along with Flight of Passage as a LLSP. I got to the park Saturday a little after 8:30 a.m. and Navi River was my first LL from 8:50-9:50. I went right to Everest and rode as a single rider. Then to Dinosaur where I also got right on. Finally headed over to Navi River to ride around 9:30. Once I tapped in there, I was able to book my next LL for Hollywood Studios, where I was headed for the afternoon. I got Rock n Roller Coaster. No availability at that time for Slinky Dog, Toy Story or Tower. I was able to book my next LL after tapping into the safari at 10:50 and was able to book Toy Story Midway Mania. Finally, I was able to book my next LL after tapping in at Lion King at 11:30. I was able to get Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. After RnR Coaster, I was able to book Alien Swirling Saucers.
Slinky Dog and Tower of Terror never opened up with any availability when I was looking. But stuff does pop back up throughout the day. Toy Story wasn't originally available (so I booked RnR Coaster), but I was able to get it later.
Hollywood had availability for Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run, Muppet Vision, Indy stunt show, Star Tours and Frozen Sing-a-long, but I didn't book them. Star Tours was a walk on and Muppets is always just waiting for the next show to start.

So my day was:
Navi River, Kilimanjaro Safari, Festival of the Lion King, Rock n Roller Coaster, Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, Alien Swirling Saucers, and Toy Story Midway Mania with the Lightning Lane Multi Pass.
Flight of Passage - Lightning Lane Single Pass.
Expedition Everest (single rider) Dinosaur, Star Tours, Milennium Falcon (single rider), and Slinky Dog - standby line
I also did the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, met Olaf, and became a Disney historian at Walt Disney: One Man's Dream.
So, I think it was a pretty good day. :)
Thanks for all the info!

One question i havent yet found the answer to, and im hoping you can help: if the multipass for AK (where you booked first) was $17, and the HS multipass was $20, did you get charged the difference when you switched to another park? Thanks for your help.

No. You are only charged a price increase if you change your park selection and LLMP and/or LLSP before you enter your first park. You are never refunded for a price decrease if you change your first park selection. For example switching from MK to AK.

Thank you!

I just booked this morning at 7:00 am sharp. Staying onsite so this was my 7 day mark. I got everything I wanted but wasn’t (and still not) happy with all of the times. I’m modifying as I can to get better timing.

Do you think it would be better to do the most in demand attraction first, go through the payment. and then come back and pick times based on what you got for the main attraction? Or would you suggest picking all 3 of your attractions (and any single LL you want) up front, taking the times they give you, and modifying if you can.

I have a pretty specific idea of what I would do if I could place my picks wherever I want them and they probably wouldn't place them in the order I would pick. I have been using the Thrill Data future availability data to get an idea of what I might expect.

I just picked my MPLLs for next weekend on Friday. I knew what I wanted and selected the 3 rides. It gave the earliest times available. If I clicked modify, the times were worse (as I wanted early times since we may park hop). I would select the 3 rides you want, modify if you can, and purchase within the 5 minutes. I've heard you may get some better options for modify morning of, but I will find out for sure next weekend.

Mostly we got times I consider pretty good. (11am for Remy on Saturday and 1045 for Slinky on Sunday) I only bought MPLL for next Saturday and Sunday as Monday we are going to AK early and then a private event at Universal Monday night. This was a quick long weekend trip as we have a longer, bigger family trip, planned in October. This is my "let's see how this thing works" trip. 😉

We are staying onsite. 7 days before we arrive at the 7:00 AM mark can 2 members in our party start booking LL for our travel days?

If we get a LL for one if our older kids who end up sleeping in or something and missing the LL, it just drops off right?

Yes but they should be using separate MDE accounts that are linked in your Friends & Family Group. They should also be using different payment methods to reduce or eliminate extra Fraud Alerts. As a reminder it is 7 AM ET.

Note: you should have them check a few days before your 7 day window starts to make sure they are comfortable using MDE for LL reservations and can see all members of your travel Group.

Currently No. Their LLMP selections are stuck until they enter the park. Their LLMP selections will just expire but still stay in their LLMP list and be Ghosted and you will not be able to make them additional selections or have the ability to book selections for them in another park if you have park hopper tickets.

If you don't mind me asking, what other LL did you get?

We are also park hoppers who would want earlier times. So, if a high demand attraction like Tiana isn't available until 1 PM, I'm wondering if they place that first and then offer the others close to that, or if they put the others as early as possible, even if there's a gap between the first two and the third one.

If you got Slinky at 10:45 there wouldn't be room for two before that because it seems like they only allow the 20 minute overlap when modifying, not with the original offer. So, did they offer one before and one after?

For Epcot, we got Spaceship earth for 9:40am and Imagination for 10:40am. I wanted 1 that was early as we are planning to hop to MK. I am hoping after we tap into Spaceship earth that we can change Imagination to somethink in MK and pickup another one in MK for the afternoon. I'm hoping I can time it for one of those Tianna drops 😬

For HS, we got TSM for 925am and ToT for 11:25am. We are planning to rope drop Rise and then pick up RnR or MMRR after we tap into TSM.

We will see if this works. In hindsite, I probably couldn't get earlier times for Slinky and Remy because of the times they gave me for the other 2 selections. Maybe when we do this again in October, I'll try to see if I can modify the earliest time to later and see if it gives me a better time for our tier 1 ride. Things that make me go hmmmmm 🤔

I wonder if they if they might start by giving you the earliest time for the tier one attraction.

Just playing around, I have found the 248 drop time for Tiana to be the most fertile, though others have popped up earlier. I’m sure it depends on how much downtime the ride has had earlier in the day.

This is where DL beats WDW. You can't book until you walk in. All this worrying and trying to beat someone else 7 days, 30 days, 180 days out...ugh. Especially for a West Coaster, that means we need to be up at 4am every day before our trip to FL to try to land a LL before all the good one are gone. It's stuff like this that makes me reconsider doing USO instead on our Summer'25 trip to Orlando.

You only have to do it every day if staying offsite with an annual pass or non-date-based ticket. With a date-based ticket, it may still be 4:00 AM, but it's at least only once.

I have a 10 day trip and arrive on a Thursday on October 17 and guessing my Thursday and Friday choices may not be so great with other people already there the week prior. Has anyone run into this situation yet?

Thank you.

It’s a matter of taste.

I like knowing before I leave home that I have times for a few attractions a day set up already.

As a guest staying onsite with park tickets I only have to do this once (at 6AM Central) to make reservations for the whole trip and it shouldn’t take longer than a couple of minutes for each day.

If you look at the Thrill Data site’s 21 day availability data you can get an idea of what might be available 7 days out.

https://www.thrill-data.com/lightning-lane

If you click on an attraction’s title in the matrix there is a more detailed chart for that attraction showing the earliest available times.

We pick our LL this coming Saturday.
I have a married son (lives outside our home) and a single son (lives at home) who were BOTH planning on getting our LL for our week. One was going to get the 1st half of our week, while the other worked on the 2nd half.
Our MDE accounts are separate, but link as "Friends/Family" and we are able to see each others plans.
IF my sons are booking on different accounts, but for the entire group, who has the ability to "modify" the LL at a later date? Either one or just the one on whose account the LL was originally booked under?

If the MDE accounts are properly link then any adult should be able to modify plans for the entire group for LLMP and/or LLSP. Do you also have a separate MDE account in addition to your 2 Sons?

They both will also be able to select LLMP and/or LLSP attractions and modify for 1 member of the group or a couple of member.

They can practice now to get understand the steps in selecting for the travel group. Just start on the Main screen aka the Hamburger screen. Three horizontal stacked lines Icon (bottom right Icon) on every screen. It should list everyone in your travel group after they select a day and a LLMP and/or LLSP to purchase and then Click the "Continue" button by scrolling down to the bottom of the screen.

The next screen is where you will see your list of Friends and Family linked MDE accounts and can select "All" or a subset if members. It should also show their ticket status if you are planning to book this weekend.
