Can anyone confirm if you can purchase an individual lightning lane with only an after hours ticket to be used prior to park closing?

Yes the system should allow the purchase if you have an after hours ticket for that day. Just make sure to select a time for after you can enter the park.

If you read the After Hours thread (very long), you will see that many, many people have done this successfully. Nobody has reported any problems there.

We attended EP AH on 6/22. My eldest only had the AH ticket for that day and purchased iLL for Cosmic Rewind with a time after 7 pm. No issues.

I did read the thread but wasn't seeing any specifics of whether these people already had daytime tickets. The PlanDisney website says you cannot buy Genie+ LL's with only an AH ticket. But jenjersnap says it does work for an iLL, so that's great!

Thank you!! This is what I was struggling to figure out if it was possible. This is exactly my plan so we can spend the event hitting the shorter lines. Was it purchased right at 7am? Were you able to get the return time for after 7pm or did you have to keep checking back?

You can choose your return time (unlike G+ regular LL). I did log in at 7 am so I would have the most choice in return times Since I am guessing the 7-9 pm return times will be popular on AH nights.

Spinning off of this - I wonder if you could join the Cosmic Rewind VQ at 7am with an AH ticket and use it during regular park hours after you can enter the park since they don't usually turn away late arrivals at Cosmic Rewind.

According to all the information in the other thread, you are NOT able to join a VQ without a regular park ticket. So in essence, Disney will accept your money for the additional paid items (ILL and G+), but will not let you do the free stuff.
