I’ve got a 2 year old who is 38.5 inches. We are going on a trip in December. Obviously she doesn’t have a ticket so I can’t purchase Genie+ or ILL$ for her. Is LL working the same as Fastpass+ was where if my wife and I and our older child have purchased an ILL$ for 7dmt, or gotten a Genie+ for SDD, will she be able to ride with us? Has anyone experienced this yet? What about rider switch? Has anyone experienced that yet? Thanks!

Is your daughter big enough to even ride 7DMT? If she is, and is under 2 then she will not need a LL for it. Rider switch has not changed and works the exact same way.

Yes, I measured her today. With sneakers, she’s 38 inches and change.

I should add, she’s not “under 2,” shes 2 years and 9 months old. She’s very tall for her age.

My son is very tall for his age as well. When he was 2 yrs and 8 months I had a cast member entering Universal challenge me that he wasn't less than 3 yrs. It was so annoying... she only shut up when I said "if this is how you are going challenge your guests then you should put it on your website to require parents bring the kids birth certificates".

I mean.. even if he was past 3 yrs .. it's completely unreasonable to charge almost same price as an adult. Same for disney... can't even order a child's meal for an 11 yrs old 😕

Rant over 😉

To be fair, at this point we shouldn't even need birth certificates - I definitely used time (date) stamped pictures of me holding my newborn and was like, "Here - see?" We also went at that 2yr 8-9mo stage.

Our 2 year old daughter is super tall also! We were originally going this year the month before her birthday and I worried I'd have to bring something to prove her age! We postponed until next year when she's 3 years old and it is definitely increasing our costs.

I haven't experienced lightning lane/genie+ yet, but with the old fast pass system my then 2.11 year old son was allowed to enter any fast pass queues that my husband, daughter, and I had fast passes for, so I assume the new system would have to work the same way. By the way, I actually brought a copy of his birth certificate, but no one questioned his age. However, he was only 35 inches tall.
