Does it make a difference at WDW??

Some say dark strollers take in the heat while lighter colors keeps the stroller cool. The stroller I registered for is black and lavender and it's what I want but when I think about our WDW trips (which we like to take in the month of May) it made me wonder if I should just go with a light colored one instead.

Also, I read advice from Mother Disers that strollers from home are most comfy for babies vs. the stroller rentals at WDW ... we drive in so not bringing the stroller would save us some trunk space, but I rather choose my child's comfortability over space saving.

Opinions? Advice?

Help!

If memory serves me right the strollers at 3 of the parks are plastic and look very uncomfortable. We always bring ours. If trunk space is an issue you can purchase a cheap umbrella stroller @ wal-mart and then leave it when you go home.

I wouldnt base the color of ur stroller on ur trips to the world. Its still going to be warm in the stroller whenever u go. We bring our strollers with us, the kids do better in them then the hard pastic ones the parks offer.

If you have a black stroller and it sits uncovered in the May sun while you are on a ride the seat and the backrest portion will be very warm on a young child's skin. We bought a bright yellow umbrella stroller just for our WDW trips (after our kids were too big for the backpack carrier) because it would be easier to find amoungst the sea of strollers and it wouldn't attract and retain the sun's heat like a darker stroller.

The strollers that you can rent at the park are a lot bigger than the basic umbrella stroller, easily blend in with everyone else that has rented (unless you attach something to the handle to make it stand out) and are hard plastic. I believe the rented strollers at MGM Studios are canvas but the other parks have hard plastic ones.

Get whatever you want for home. Disney is a different game all together.

Do get a very lightweight, very durable, very small stroller for Disney.

May I heartily recommend the Maclarens? You will not be sorry, will use this stroller so much more than you can imagine and it meets all the requirements!

On trips when I have had a darker stroller I always pack a lightweight receiving kind of blanket in white or light color to put over seat. Just snap it out of seat and cover hot bars, sides while on ride (this gets rid of crumbs too) and then tuck it back in when you return (also saves you in a pinch if your stroller gets dosed in passing rain cloud).

No renting for us, to much $$$. We have driven many many times and a few of those times trunk space was at capacity but I have been creative and we always fit it in.

Good luck and many magical vacations to you and your strolling family!

going on 25 strolling years here:rotfl:
