I go to Walmart before our trip and stock up on Party Glow bracelets and necklaces,(you crack them to make them lite) made by unique. The kids love wearing them and they glow in the dark so we can see them from afar, especially on E-nights.:earsgirl:

This is a great idea! Dollar Tree sometimes sells these in packs of 4 (2 necklaces and 2 braclets). It may worth checking out your local dollar tree. I found them hanging up with the toys in our DT.

You will thank yourself for buying these ahead of time. On our last trip, I bought a big canister of them from Oriental Trading Company. They were much cheaper and significantly reduced the begging factor when we were at the parks at night. Plus, it helped us keep an eye on our kids in the dark. The one thing my son absolutely HAD to have (with his allowance $$ was one of those spinning light-up things).

We bought the four inch glow sticks off of ebay for a great price. We take them on trips, play with them in the eve. and then use them for night lights so that the guys don't turn on the real lights and wake up their brothers!

We have a few little light up things for our kids, but our purpose is a bit different.
My kids are a little skittish about the dark, and since so many of the rides (even the little kid's ones) are dark, we found it put a bit of a damper on things for us.
A lightbulb went off for me (no pun intended) and we ended up getting some light sticks and light-up LED necklaces for them and they feel much better! Even though we are in dark places, they still have there own personal lights (which are not really bright enough to interfere with the ride/show for anyone else, btw.)
We got ours from CVS and iParty. I like the LED necklaces (and little light saber looking things) becuase they have replaceable batteries.

These light necklaces are Da Bomb. You can see them from afar if you drop one at night. Plus they can glow up to 6 hours!!!!!!
If on one of my trips I forgot to bring or use them I would be sad.

AND if you bring along a few extra's.... you can give them to a child to brighten their day or night!! With parents permission of course... You'll definitely see a smile on that face!!!

Just a random act of kindness!

I have bought these in bulk from various internet party sources. They are great at birthday parties, kids never seem to tire of them. If your child falls asleep and the lightstick still has lots of life left in it, stick them in your freezer. It will preserve what bit of life is left for another night!

One note, though -- I would suggest the shorter lightsticks or connectable bracelets for packing purposes. It's very very easy (unless you reallllly pack the long necklace types snugly) to break or crack the glass capsule inside the long necklaces. THen you'll show up at WDW with nothin' but a bunch of dead plastic tubes. Bummer.

And if you bring the lightsticks -- remember to pack a ribbon or cord to tie the lightstick to (unless one is provided in the lightstick package). I recall one summer that my son had to use the drawstring from his dad's shorts so he could "wear" his lightstick. He enjoyed his light, while the rest of us worried about the moon....(or possibility thereof!)
