Anyone watching the series Life on the Discovery channel. It's an 11 part series narrated by Oprah, so far it's been pretty good just way to many commercials. Plus I would've rather had Morgan Freeman narrate I love his voice. It has some really stunning videography.

Oh, rats! I've been meaning to catch this and I missed it tonight. I'll have to set my DVR.

My question is... does it focus a great deal on the "death" part of life? I love to see creatures get born and go about living their unique lives, but I prefer to skip the parts where they hunt for their food or for aggression/defense.

In other words... was it icky?

It's about life, from birth to death. It will show death of animals, part of the circle of life, the preview hint at this.

I thought it was well done but way too many commercials. I bet it would be about 30 min without commercials, I don't think I have ever seen so many in one show.
I thought so far they are dealing with the death part very well. No bloody animals, just an explaination of how and why with some before videos but not the final kill. I have no problems showing it to my 4 year old grandson after I tape the series.
By the way, there is a 2nd show after the 1st and they repeat both shows tonight again so you can tape it now if you missed.

My DH and I love Morgan Freemans voice, it is sooooo soothing! One time we were at the Smithsonian watching an IMAX film and we both fell asleep! We swear it was his voice!

Discovery Canada aired the original (full) BBC episodes last year.
David Attenborough was the narrator as he was for Planet Earth.
Don't know why Discovery US feels the need to replace him for their airings.
