Hi all,

Does the Magic provide life vests for the kids to use in the pool or should we bring our own? (Kids are 5 & 2).

Same question for Castaway Cay.

Thanks!!

To my knowledge, the life vests are only the emergency vests for shipboard emergencies - nothing adequate for the pool. For the ages of your children, though, assuming they are at the Mickey pool, it is extremely shallow and I didn't see any children with pool vests there.

Unless your 2yo is potty trained, they will only be allowed in the Mickey ear for non-pt'd kids. It is more like a little fountain they can splash in. The Mickey pool is only 18" so no need for a vest there. You could always bring some arm floaties for the 5yo for the goofy pool.

We brought our own (we were so pleased with the type they use at WDW we bought some for my parents place on the lake). They were very useful for a 4 and 5 year old for the Goofy Pool (well over their heads, we only swam there when it wasn't crowded at all) and CC.

def. bring your own-neither the wonder nor the magic have any life vests or floaties available (they also don't sell them in the shops due to liability issues).

What type did they have at WDW that you liked so much? Do you know brand? Did they sell that at the WDW resorts? I was planning to buy DD a lifejacket this weekend and if they have good ones they sell there I'll buy it at the resort and just have to tote it home instead of both ways.

Thanks. :sunny:

They don't sell them at WDW, we ordered ours over the internet. They are made by Texas Recreation and called a Supersoft Swim Vest. At WDW you can borrow them at the waterparks and at the pools (at least, they are borrowable at Boardwalk Villas, you might want to call the hotel you are staying at).

Smalls are 23-24" around the chest. Worn by my skinny tall six year old (48" 46 lbs) and his shorter rollypolly five year sister (42" 46"). Last year, and the year before that, they both wore extra small (though by close in on her fifth and his sixth birthday, they were tight).

You might want to do more searching, I just put in the first link I found.

I need to find a tape measure and measure her chest. I have no idea. She is 5 and a half and skinny.

Thanks. i ordered it today. hope it comes in time. She is 20 and a half inches. Too small for even the Xsmall size. It will be close enough, just slightly loose. I'm glad i measured. Since she is almost 6 I almost order the small. Thank you for your guidance.

Just wanted to say that this came in the mail to day and we LOVE it. DD thinks it is so soft and comfortable and a great fit. THANKS for the suggestion. We 2nd it!

Glad you like it. My parents have a lake home, so the kids live in theirs in the summer. They need comfortable. One word of warning is to make sure the leg strap is nice and long so you don't get any uncomfortable rubbing in tender areas.
