Life time Disney World passes???

I was only about 10 and it was our first trip to Disney World (then only the Magic Kingdom). The previous year we had visited Disneyland. It didn't help that the Feb we were debuting at Magic Kingdom the temps were in the 30's and we were all bundled up in our winter coats, hats and gloves (thank goodness we had flown w/ them from NE). But even despite the weather, we all loved Disneyland better than DisneyWorld. There was no comparing IASW (love those topiaries in CA) and even the HM seemed to pale. We liked the 20,000 LUTS ride...but several E-ticket rides were closed and they had nothing that was as good as The Matterhorn at Disneyland. Anyway....we saw the sign for Life Time Passes and all laughed. "No way" we thought... "This place was no Disneyland".

I didn't return until an adult many years later and still tended to only visit every 3 or more yrs when I had a conference (or a friend's wedding) to attend. Wasn't until we had our 1st child and visited WDW w/ him at age 2.5yrs that I discovered the magic of the mouse. We go about every 18mths and now have 2 children. Both Disney-aholics. And of course being a Diser has only enhanced our trips!!!!

Life time pass...it was w/in our grasp...but $1100 in the early 70's was A LOT of money. Man do I wish I had that now!!

The only lifetime pass I ever saw was one owned by a friend of mine who is a doctor and bought it when the park first opened as he became a stockholder.....

One poster mentioned them being sold in 1980. They said that that was the last they remembered them being sold. At that time, only MK would be open and it would not have nearly as many attractions as it does now. I am guessing that it would be good only at MK right now. Still, if it had the capabilities of an current AP, I'd certainly like to get one if they were available. I don't think they will offer a deal for lifetime passes. The ticket value will most likely rise rather than fall. A ticket could cost a lot more in 20 years. A lifetime pass would be almost too good a deal. If I were Disney, I'd rather be payed every year or so by AP holders than get payed a bundle at the beginning and then provide service until the passholder dies or decides to stop coming.

I posted about this a minute ago. Can you ask him whether it works only at MK or does it work at the locations that were constructed after its purchase.
